End

Okay you all know I dont want to write this anymore and I simply dont havr time anymore either.

So the start of that epilogue was to throw you all off while Jon was in the hospital with his knee.

That was the only part of the tour I was going to talk about.

A week before Melody wanted to move, of course Jon had found a new house in New York by then where everyone would fit. Of course Melody wouldn't have been happy at first but finally agreed to move there and cancel the place she had.

Of course she said yes to his quick proposal, who would say no to that? They'd get married a few months later, probably fall or winter. I never really thought that through...

I also put thought in them having kids but that just seemed to complicated, 10 all together is definitely enough in a house.

I'm sorry

Epilogue some more

I told you it would come in parts

"Fuck, no Melody! Just no, damn it!"
"Jon!" She shouted back.
Melody shook her head. She couldn't believe how incredibly stupid he was acting.
Annoyed, she tried again. "Jon, look at me."
He didn't budge and avoided his eyes from her.
"Jon!" She grabbed his chin and made him look at her. "Look at me and just listen please."
Finally his eyes looked up at her.
"I know you don't like this but it isn't that bad." She tried to explain.
Jon sighed and calmed down a bit, after all, he had done the same.
"Just take the morphine. It'll be gone by noon and you still have 30 hours before you perform then." She needed to convince him, she had to. "You're not going to do any work now anyway. You don't need your brain."

Well, I'll work on some sort of epilogue for you.

Chapter 131

After the weekend Melody finally started to feel better, the pain was mostly gone and breathing wasn’t such a struggle anymore.

Tuesday morning she woke up with Jon wrapped behind her, his arms tightly wrapped around her. She felt his lips in her neck, moaning at the feeling she hadn’t felt in over a week.

Carefully she turned around in his arms to kiss his sweet lips. “Morning.’ She smiled, still sleepy.
“Good morning.” He clarified. “How are you feeling?”
“Really good.”

Jon kissed her neck again, making Melody arch back, he found more skin to kiss. He nibbled all the way down until her t-shirt stopped him.

Melody sat up and pulled her t-shirt off, dropping it to the floor; she lied back down in the bed.

Jon didn’t waste a minute and pulled her panties down too. After a whole week, he didn’t want to wait but he had to make sure Melody was okay. He could hear her breathing and looked up.

“Are you okay?” He asked gently.
Melody nodded.
“You’re sure?”

Melody sat up with a sigh and wrapped her hand around his dick, she stroked him a few times before laying back and guiding him inside her.

Moans started as he filled her. His thrusts were slow until Melody started moaning louder, he wanted to slow down, unsure of what she was feeling was pleasure or pain.

“Faster Jon”. She ordered.

Confused, he didn’t know what to do.

Melody wrapped her legs around him, pulling him closer. He groaned at the feeling and started thrusting faster. Melody held on tight as his thrusts gained speed. The feeling had her go insane, it felt so incredibly good.

With another few stroked in and out, she exploded around him, screaming his name.

Jon enjoyed her orgasm before letting go himself.

“Want to go out with the kids this afternoon?” Jon asked Melody after they had breakfast in the kitchen.
“Sure, what do you want to do?” She asked.
“A movie or something.” He suggested with a shrug, that way he could keep Melody resting.

At the theatre they bought tickets to the newest children’s movie, at the concession stands the kids filled bags of candy before asking for popcorn too. Jon wanted a relaxing afternoon now that Melody was feeling better and gave them what they wanted before going in to the dark theatre room. They sat all the way in the back and the kids finally calmed down when the movie started.

The next day they had a family day at home. Jon made bacon and eggs for breakfast, to everyone’s delight.

Afterwards Jon decided they were staying home.

In the living room the board games came out, letting them enjoy games for a few hours.

After lunch the oldest kids got bored with it and decided on doing something on their own.

That gave Jon the idea of the little ones play in the backyard while Melody and him could watch them playing around.

Thursday Melody got annoyed when Jon wanted to take everyone to the arcade, it was like he was making sure she wasn’t doing too much.

The arcade was huge, with an indoor playground with ball pools and lots of games for older ones too. There was a “parents zone” were Jon and Melody stayed, along with Richie, talking and reading while the kids enjoyed themselves.

Finally on Friday Melody was fed up with it while Jon suggested what they could do that day.

“No Jon,” she said strictly, “I told you I’m fine so you’re gonna go on your fancy phone and find a water park we can go to.” She ordered him.

Jon wasn’t used to be told what do and didn’t know what to say. Instead he got his phone and started searching for a water park.

“Will you relax now?” Melody asked as they walked in to one of the pools.
“I’m just worried.” He said.
“I know you are but I’m fine.” Melody assured him.
“Last time you said you were fine, I had to take you to the hospital.” He explained.
“But I’m really fine now.” She tried to convince him and pulled him along to the pool.

Even though Richie was staying with them, he had decided to spend time with Ava and his mother too but today he came along for swimming. Ava was off with Jon and Melody’s oldest kids, which left Richie with them looking after the three other children.

That evening Jon and Melody had a peaceful evening, cuddling on the couch, watching a movie. The kids were out cold when they got back home from the restaurant after the water park.

The next day Melody decided to show Jon the apartment she was going to rent when she came back home from the tour in Europe.

“I still like you to come live with me.” Jon urged again.
“I know Jonny,” she walked over to him, “but in fact, even your place is too small for ten of us.” She told him.
“I can find something.” He was sure he could, it wouldn’t be that hard, it was New York after all.
“I’m sure you could but I really want to do this.” Melody insisted.
Jon sighed, he didn’t want to argue about it. “I will convince you one day.” He said determined.
“I’m pretty sure you will.” Melody agreed, just not right now.

It made Jon nervous about what he was planning to do, how would she react? Maybe Richie was right about it.

During the weekend Richie and Ava went home and Jon and Melody spent their last few days with their children.

Melody had never had to say goodbye to her children for so long before but being with Jon and making one of her dreams come through would help her through, she knew that.

Wednesday was the day, both of them were nervous but for different reasons. Jon had talked to Richie the night before about what to do. He appreciated his opinion but didn’t agree with it, his mind was made up. Before getting in the car for the airport, he checked his coat jacket and gave Melody a hand to get in.

They met the rest of the band at the airport, greeted with hugs, most of all everyone was glad Richie was back.

For a while Richie told them about rehab again, how much better he felt now.

Finally they were told they could start boarding the plane. Unlike usually, Jon let everyone go on before on.

“Jon, you coming?” Richie asked before starting to walk over to the plane, noticing Jon was lingering.
“Yeah, go ahead.”

It made Melody wonder what he was doing but when Jon got up, she followed up.

Het met Richie at the stairs to get on the plane. It made Melody wonder even more when they started whispering but they Richie took Jon’s carry-on bags, smiled and followed the rest of the band.

Jon turned around to Melody. “Everything alright? He asked.
“Yeah, what were you whispering?” She asked a little confused.
“We weren’t whispering. Come on.”

He took her hand and let her walk up the stairs behind him.

Halfway, he stopped and turned around.

“What?” Melody asked confused.

Jon put his hands in his coat pockets, thinking of words.

“Jon, what’s wrong?” Melody asked confused.

He looked her in the eyes. “I want you to go on that plane,” he paused, that was what she was trying to do, “with a promise of forever.” He finished and took his hands out of his pockets, opening the small box he was holding.

Chapter 130

Unlike last time when she was sick, Melody didn’t complain when Jon made her rest.

The pain was back and she didn’t want to do more than stay in bed. She took her prescribed painkillers but the pain hadn’t gone yet, as long as she lied down it wasn’t so bad.

Three days she had been in bed now, everyone came to see her once in a while but she felt left out of their vacation time. They should be doing fun trips now but there she was, sick in bed, again. Even moving to the couch was too much.

“How are you doing?” Jon walked in the room; he had been gone for over an hour.
Melody sighed, then winced.
“Now why do you do that?” He asked as he got on the bed next to her, he lied on his side, propped up on his elbow. His other arm reached over her, resting on her waist.

“Richie just called.” He said.
Melody looked up at him. “Did he? What did he say?” She asked.
“He just got home and asked if he could come over with Ava.”
“Oh?” Melody asked.
“Yeah, so he could see his mum too but I told him you were all here…” He answred.
“What? Jon, you gotta let him come, it’d be good.” She urged him. She really thought I might be good for him to come over for w hile.
“Yeah but with all the kids.” Jon said.
“Jon.” Melody complained, she knew he’d want to see his best friend now too.
“So I told him he had to stay in the guest house.” He finally finished his explanation.
“Jon!” Melody said annoyed. “You couldn’t just say that the first time?”
“You kept interrupting me.” He teased, even though he kept pausing at every sentence.
“When’s he coming?” Melody asked.
“In two days.” Jon answered.

Jon snuggled down under the sheets, wrapping an arm around her, letting his head rest on his other arm.

Melody watched him, unsure of what he was doing.

“Come on, I want to nap with you.” He urged her.

Melody did her best to move closer to him without causing more pain and closed her eyes, glad he was there with her.

Jon watched her as she fell asleep almost immediately.

He was so relieved she was alright and that she’d get better.

The last week had brought enough panicking moments, with her kids in the hospital, then he had to bring her to the emergency room. It wasn’t anything he’d imagined in their relationship, which made him realize even more that he never wanted to let go. He loved Melody in his arms and hoped she’d stay there forever.

Two days later Melody sat with Jon’s arm wrapper around her in the formal living room, watching a movie with the children.

The pain was finally starting to ease and she could sit up and breathing became easier, hopefully she’d be better after the weekend and they could finally enjoy their vacation.

Jon liked spending time with Melody, there wasn’t anything else he wanted to do. Spend time with his girl, his kids and her kids, it all seemed perfect. This was how their lives could be.

That was what he wanted and exactly what he’d get, he’s make sure of that. After all, he always got what he wanted.

When the movie finished, the doorbell sounded throughout the house. It was the first time the rest of them heard it and Melody couldn’t help but laugh and hurt herself.

“Right on time.” Jon said as he carefully let go of Melody and got up to open the door.

Melody could hear him great his best friend and a minute later Jon walked in followed by Richie who was being followed by Ava.

The house was going to be crowed now, with twelve people in it.

Richie and Ava sat down on the empty couch, the other one was being used by three children.

Jon quickly introduced Ava to Melody and Faith, then added. “Steph is probably in her room.”

Which made Ava get up and walk away.

A few minutes later, so did the three children, the movie was over and adult talk did not interest them.

Jon sat with Melody again, letting her get comfy against him again.

Richie started telling them about rehab, what he learned and who he met, how good it was for him.

Before long Melody was asleep in Jon’s arms.

Jon looked down and his thoughts were confirmed when he saw her sleeping, he kissed the top of her head.

“I see you didn’t pop the question yet.” Richie said after a few minutes when they were sure Melody was asleep.
“What?” Jon looked up, then realized what he meant. “No, the last few weeks have been hectic.” He explained.
“Did you change your mind?” Richie asked a little worried.
“No, even more sure now than before.” Jon smiled.
“Aw man, I’m so happy for you.” Richie smiled back, honestly happy for his best friend. “When are you going to ask her?”
“I’m not sure, before or after the tour and she’s so set on renting an apartment a few blocks away.” He sighed.
“Do you think she might not want to?” He asked worried again.
“Nah, she will when I ask.” He said confident, looking down at Melody again.

Chapter 129

Jon woke with the same worries only four hours later to the sound of his cell phone's alarm.
What was he going to tell the children? The older ones wouldn't be up yet but little ones were always up early. What was he going to say to Faith? If he said her mom was in the hospital she would most likely panic?

Would Melody be alright right now? Would whatever it was have passed by now or was she still in pain? He just hoped she would be alright, he needed her.

With a groan he got out of bed, he had to face the day and the sooner he did, the sooner he could go back to the hospital.

"Where's mom?" Faith asked the question he was fearing during breakfast.
"She's still sleeping." He said before he knew it. Maybe she was still sleeping.
Faith accepted that answer and went with it.

Jon was relieved she didn't ask more, maybe Melody could go home with him later.

During breakfast J walked in to the kitchen. Jon was surprised to see him at 8 am. He didn't say much and just sat down to pour his own bowl of cereal.

After breakfast the three youngest were off to watch cartoons.
"Did you tell Faith?" J asked when they were alone in the kitchen
"No, I didn't know she'd react."
"Probably." J agreed. "You going now?"
"Yeah." Jon put away the last dishes and straightened up and looked at J, he looked worried. "Don't worry, she'll be fine."
J only nodded.
"I'll let you know if I know." Jon promised. "Thanks for watching the kids."

The drive to the hospital didn't seem that long this time. He parked his car and went up to the room where Melody was.

He quietly opened the door, careful if she was still asleep. He looked up at her, her eye lashes rested on her cheeks. The chair he sat in during the night hadn't moved so he sat down in the same place.

She didn't look like she was in pain anymore, that was a relief for him. Maybe it was still the morphine.
He softly laid his hand on top of hers, stroking his thumb over the back of her hand.

Slowly, Melody opened her eyes, focusing on Jon next to her. "Thought you were going home?"
"I did but I had to come back now." He said gently.
Only then Melody noticed he was wearing different clothes.
"How are you feeling?" Jon asked.
"Alright, the morphine helps, I'm making you take it next time."
Jon chuckled, he hoped she wouldn't. "When's the rest of your tests?"
"No idea."

A minute later a nurse walked in. "Oh good, you're up, are you ready for some more bloods?" She asked.
"As ready as I'll get." Melody said, offering her free arm.

The nurse took another three vials of blood from Melody.

Melody thought it was sweet Jon was squeezing her hand even though she didn't really mind it.

"As soon as there's an orderly to take you, you can go for your echo." The nurse said as she put her equipment away.
"Echo?" Melody asked surprised.
"Of your chest." The nurse added.

10 minutes later Jon had to say goodbye to Melody again, she wouldn't be gone for long.
He settled back in his chair and waited for her to return. How long would an echo take?

Melody didn't like hospitals, she never had and now that she actually was in one she liked it even less.
She was relieved to be back in her room half an hour later. Jon hadn't moved from his seat or so it seemed.

"How'd it go?" He asked as soon as they were alone.
"I don't know. The man said he didn't see anything though." She answered.
"That has to be good." Jon hoped.

They didn't have to wait long to find out if it was good as another doctor walked in.

She held a chart infront of her and read, then looked up at them. "Your blood results are all good. Dr. Winston was worried about blood clots but your echo was clear as for fluids too."
Melody and Jon both nodded.
"Your chest pains were caused by an inflammation of the pleura, the lining of the pleural cavity surrounding the lungs. You'll have to take some anti inflamatory and you should be better in about two weeks."
"Two weeks?" Melody asked surprised.
"Yes. As the inflamation subsides so will the pain."
Melody nodded understanding, was it still going to hurt as much?
"If you don't have any questions, I'll let the nurse get you that anti inflamatory and give you some pain relief before discharging you."
Jon looked down at Melody to see if she wanted to know something.
"I'm working this week and then we're going to Europe." She said worried.
"I can't let you do that." The doctor said.
"What?"Jon asked surprised.
"She can't go working. When are you going to Europe?" She asked.
"In two weeks." Jon answered.
The doctor looked back at Melody. "You should be fine by then but I can't let you go to work, you need to rest those two weeks."
Jon liked that idea, no working.
Melody nodddd.
"Okay then, I'll get the nurse for you."
"Thanks." They both said and the doctor left the room again.

"Well that's good." Jon concluded.
"Yeah, we can go home. What did you tell the kids?"
"Nothing." He said as he got his phone out. "I didn't want to worry them. Only Steph and J know, they were up when I got home and I promised to let him know as soon as we did." He started typing a text to J.

Melody couldn't be happier to be out of the hospital even though the morphine was losing its effect.

As always Jon helped her out of the car when they got home. He wrapped an arm around her waist as they walked inside, he wasn't letting go of her, to be sure she was okay.

"Bed or the living room?" He asked when they were in the hallway.
"Lets watch a bit of tv." Melody decided.

Jon did as she asked and walked her to a very full living room, all heads turning to them as they walked in. Almost immediately a rush of questions followed too.

"Wow, just wait a minute." Jon told them.

Then helped Melody sit down comfortably, then sat down next to her. Melody changed her position and snuggled into him. He was being so sweet to her, like he always was, one of the reasons she loved him so much. She rested her arm around his waist and leaned her head on his shoulder. He was much more comfortable than any bed.

This time the questions were slower. They calmly answered each question, even the exaggerated ones.

When they answered all the questions, the kids were satisfied that Melody was okay.

She knew better, the morphine was gone and the pain was creeping in again. With the children their attention back on the tv, Melody snuggled into Jon and closed her eyes.

Chapter 128

Written on my phone, so sorry for typos, sure there will be plenty.

Jon shifted gears as he sped up when the lights turned green again. He quickly glanced and Melody before focusing on the road.

She had her arms wrapped around her chest. He could see she was still having trouble breathing, it looked like every breath she took was hurting her worse than before. She bent over a little as she applied more pressure to her chest.

Jon reached out to put his hand on her shoulder. "Hang on, we're almost there." He tried to encourage her, he softly rubbed her shoulder.

Melody nodded weakly, it hadn't hurt like this before, it was much worse. Before, when she took a few slow breaths it would ease away but now that only hurt. Her arms around her were applying pressure which did ease the pain a little. It terrified her. How bad could it be?

Jon groaned in groaned in frustration when he had stop at another red light, he couldn't get to the hospital fast enough.
"Almost." He repeated when he noticed Melody's fast and shallow breaths. He was already driving, he couldn't go faster than that.

After what seemed like ages to both of them but finally Jon parked the car.

He got out, slammed the door behind him in his hurry and went to open Melody's door. He reached down to give her a hand to get out.

He felt horrible when Melody let out a scream as she stretched to stand up. She couldn't take a few breaths to even out the pain, that only made it worse.

"Want me to carry you?" Jon asked.
"No." Melody wrapped her arms around her chest again, if Jon carried her, she couldn't do that.

Jon walked beside her, keeping his eyes on her as he lead the way in to the emergency room.
In the waiting room, he helped her sit down, then went to find her a nurse.

Melody tried to stay calm but the fact that she couldn't breath wasn't helping.
She looked up when Jon sat down next to her, hoping they could go inside soon.
Just then her name was called. Jon stood up and reached to help her up.
Painfully Melody got up, stretching hurt the most.

Jon wrapped his arm around her waist and walked with her to the room the nurse was guided them too.
He helped her sit up on the bed, but when she tried to lie down, it hurt too much.

Instead the nurse adjusted the back of the bed so it was raised and Melody could lean back.
Next the nurse put a mask with airflow over her face, making Melody more terrified, what if it really was that bad?

Jon took her hand as squeezed as the nurse went on with her job, he tried to help Melody relaxed but he couldn't relax himself.

It didn't take long for a doctor to show up too. The nurse did a quick introduction and medical talk with him, which neither Jon or Melody understood.

As Melody was still having trouble breathing, making talking difficult, the doctor directed his questions to Jon. The first question was easy enough, the doctor asked. "Can you tell me what happened?"
"We were ha-" Jon stopped himself, he couldn't say that without embarrassing them both. He looked at Melody, her cheeks a little flushed, before he continued. "She started breathing heavily, then said it hurt and she started having trouble to breath."
The doctor nodded when Jon finished his explanation. "Has she been sick lately, a cold or a flu?"
"Eumh." He had to think about when she had a flu. "A flu about a month ago and a cold last week." She he mention Melody's late period? Would it be important?
"Any chance of pregnancy?"
That answered his question, he looked back at Melody.  "You were three weeks late, right?" He waited for Melody to slightly nod and answer the question. "But you got them about two weeks ago?" Again Melody nodded and Jon looked back at the doctor.
"Okay, chest x-ray, pain relief and bloods." He said as he started writing on a chart. He gave his chart to the nurse and left the room with a short nod.
The nurse took a look at the chart. "I'll be back with some pain relief." She said before she left.

"How are you doing?" Jon asked, stepping closer to stand right next to Melody.
She opened her mouth to say something but had to close it again to breath.
"You'll be fine." He encouraged just as the nurse walked back in.
"The pain relief will help." She added to what Jon said.

She pulled a stool closer by and sat down next to Melody's bed, opposite of Jon. From a tray, she picked up a needle.

In panic, Melody looked at Jon.
"It's just a shot." He said soothingly, thinking she was scared of the needle.
"Mor...phine?" She asked between breaths.

They both looked at the nurse. "That's what subscribed but I need to do bloods first." She explained.

Jon looked back at Melody. "Come on, honey, you'll be able to breath again." He tried to convince her.
Melody kept a stare fixed on her.
"The pain will be gone." He added. He knew she didn't like painkillers but she was in so much pain, he didn't care, he just wanted her to feel better.
Melody relented and broke her stare, looking back over at the nurse.
"Do you want the morphine?" She asked unsure.
"Yeah." Jon said as Melody nodded.

Melody looked down at her elbow and watched a needle for bloods penetrate her skin.

Fifteen minutes later Melody was feeling very relaxed. "Why did I say no to this the first time?" She asked a little loopy.
Jon chuckled. "I think that's why."
"It's good." She smiled.
"Are you still in pain?" He asked, still worried, morphine would only mask her pain it wouldn't cure whatever was wrong.
"Around here." Melody moved bother her hands to the middle of her chest.

They were interrupted when Melody's nurse walked back into the room with an orderly. "Are you ready for your x-rays?" She asked.
"Yeah." Melody smiled again.

Jon reached for her and gave her a quick kiss, "See you in a few minutes."

While Melody was gone, he went to look for coffee and a telephone.

When he dialed his home number he actually hoped there would be no answer. But if someone told him they were going to the hospital he wouldn't be able to sleep anymore, so maybe Stephanie wouldn't either. He turned his wrist to check the time, 1 am.

"Hello?"
"Steph, it's me, dad. Everything okay?" He asked quickly.
"Yeah. Are you still at the hospital?" She asked worried.
"Yes, Melody is getting x-rays right now." He answered her question.
"Is she okay?"
"She was having trouble breathing, I guess we'll know more after the x-rays."
"Okay."
"I don't know when we'll be home, get some sleep." He told her.
"Doubt it."

They said goodbye, Jon hung up the phone and picked up his cup of coffee. Taking a few sips as he found his way back to the emergency room where Melody had been.

He arrived just in time as Melody got back too.

Just as they were getting settled again, the doctor walked in with the x-rays.

"Everything looks clear," he started out, "but because what you said earlier and your age, we should do some more tests in the morning so you'll have to stay for the night." He explained.
Melody wanted to protest but knew there wasn't anything she could do to change it, instead, she nodded. "Alright."
Jon was surprised by how easily she agreed.
"I'll go find you a room and then we'll get you settled." The nurse excused herself and followed the doctor out of the room.
"How loopy did your brain go?" Jon joked.
"What do you mean?"
"You agreed so easily." He said.
"I didn't have a choice."
"Good you didn't, argument could take ages." He teased again.
"You're exaggerating." Melody said a little bit annoyed.

The nurse returned rather quickly. "I found you a room upstairs."
"Private?" Jon pitched in.
"Yes, it is." She confirmed.
"Good."

An orderly followed in with a wheel chair.
Jon helped Melody up from the bed, ignoring both the nurse and orderly.
Moving didn't hurt her as much anymore and with Jon's help Melody could move to the wheelchair.

Standing up from the wheelchair was more painful, she was glad when Jon was right by her side and steadied her before helping her on the bed and arranging the pillows so she could lay down.

Relaxed, Melody pulled the sheets up to her chin, ready to go to sleep.
"You okay?"
"Much better." She said, still loopy, she could still feel the pain in her chest but she could breathe normally again.

The chair in the corner of the room, caught Jon's eye and he pulled it closer to sit down.
"Maybe you should go home." Melody said.
His eyebrows raised in question.
"What if one of the kids wake up?" She asked worried.
He wasn't worried about that, Steph and J were both 18 now. "I'll wait till you are asleep." He answered.

Melody turned to her side, the pressure still relieved the pain and reached out a hand.
Jon took her hand and held it.
"Thanks." Melody said, if it weren't for Jon she'd still be be in pain.
"I love you." He said gently.
"I love you too."
"Sleep." He told her.
Melody did as he said and closed her eyes.

Jon stayed till Melody was asleep but he had to go check on his kids. He'd be back in the morning.

As soon as he opened the front door, Stephanie walked up to him, J was right behind her.
"Where's mum?" He asked.
"She had to stay for tests in the morning."
"How is she?" Stephanie pitched in.
"Better but they don't know what yet. Jon explained.
"What if it's something bad?" J asked worried.
"If it was, they'd do the tests now, she'll be fine." Jon said quickly, hoping he was right.
J nodded, not really sure.
"Come on, you guys need some sleep."

He followed them up the stairs, making sure they were going back to their rooms.

In his room, Jon set his phone's alarm for 7am so he could go back to the hospital after breakfast. He undressed and got in bed. His mind started drifting to Melody as soon as his head hit the pillow. What if she wouldn't be fine and it was something very bad? It were her longs, so many bad things could go wrong, very wrong.

Finally he fell asleep alone.

Chapter 127

Monday morning started bright and early, for the kids. It was just past 7 am when Melody heards three little ones creep past their door and down the stairs.

It was when they were in the kitchen that the noise got obvious, thinking they wouldn't be heard.

She could hear a chair's legs scraping over the hardwood floor,a box fall down, followed by a slam of a cupboard door. They obviously hadn't heard of lifting up a chair or being quiet at all.

Melody was amazed that Jon slept through it but he'd sleep through anything. She couldn't only hear his snoring but her own breathing too. A little annoyed she got up and went to the bathroom to look where Jon got the painkillers from.

She finally found them in the cabinet above the sink. She took two pills instead of one, making sure Jon wouldn't notice how she really felt.

In fact she was getting fed up with her cold, it had been over a week now.

When she got back to the room Jon was up, searching for clothes.
He turned towards Melody as she walked in then walked to her, adding a kiss. "Good morning."
"Good morning." She said when he let her lips go.
He raised his hand to her forehead instead. "How are you feeling?"
"Fine."
"See, that's what painkillers are for." He unknowingly pointed out.
Melody simply nodded.

In the kitchen they found a spilled box of cereal, the box and bag open with the cereal all over the floor.

Melody bent to pick it up but Jon stopped her.
"They made the mess, they clean it up." Knowing teenagers wouldn't be up yet, he called all three of the youngest children.

Five minues later a whole box of cereal lay in the trash can, what a waist.

The kids claimed they had breakfast already so Jon and Melody had their own. Jon baked a few slices of bacon while Melody toasted bread and got drinks.

When she was sitting across of Jon she was sure she could do that every day, have a nice and peaceful breakfast with him.

That's how they spent the rest of their day too, peaceful.

The older kids got up closer to noon but each did their own thing, not showing much interest in being a family.

The three other ones were clearly already getting bored of being around the house.

It was a nice sunny day, the first of the summer holidays which gave Jon an idea. He suggested his youngest boys to go to the beach. Of course Romeo and Jake instantly got excited and Jon told them to spread the word around the house, they'd leave in 30 minutes.

Melody was excited herself, never a bad thing to see him in swimming shorts. She followed Jon upstairs and after changing in to their swimsuits she helped him pack towels to take with them.

Surprisingly when they went back downstairs they found more children than the three they had expected.

"You're all going?" He asked suprised.
"We'll go on our own though." Stephanie said quickly.
"It's a family vacation." Jon pointed out, a little annoyed that his older kids rather weren't seen in public with him.
"We have to drive two cars anyway." Stephanie smiled.

The beach wasn't as busy as they had expected for the first day of summer. They found a spot to put down their towels and watched the older kids wander a little further away from them.

The little ones went off playing by the water and Melody and Jon both lied down on a towel in the sand.

It was the middle of the afternoon and the sun was hot, making the sand even hotter.

"I think you need sunscreen before you burn." Jon said excited.
"Probably not a bad idea." Melody agreed and turned to lay on her belly.
"Hey gotta do the front too." Jon stopped her.

He took the bottle from their bag and squeezed the sticky cream on her belly before spreading it out with his hands.

Melody relaxed to the feeling of his warm hands on her, a moan escaped her.
Jon's hands went higher, under the rims of her bikini.
Melody looked up at him, surely he wouldn't do anything here.

"Gotta make sure you don't get burned." He smiled up at her.
"Maybe you should try it too then, remember last month?" She asked.
"I provided lots of fun for everyone else."

He had, the kids had a lovely time of laughing at him, even his band had.

He leaned over for a short kiss before applying the cream to her chest.

Melody's breathing hitched when he touched the outsides of her breasts. He made very sure those spots got enough cream; her skin felt so soft, he couldn't stop touching her. Her stiffening nipples under the bikini top showed that she enjoyed it too.

"Kids Jon." She reminded him.
He let go of her and sat back on his knees before shifting to sit down as he put the bottle away.
"What? I don't get to do that to you?" Melody asked disappointed.
"Don't you want to go swimming instead?" He asked, he didn't need sun screen.
"Afterwards." She reached over to the bag to retrieve the sun screen.

She moved to push him back down on the towel. When he was lying on his back she moved to sit on top of him.

Jon groaned when she did, public beach, he reminded himself.

Melody could feel him stir underneath her, giving an extra wiggle to tease him.

Then got the sun screen and did exactly what he had done. She touched every part of skin that she  could, massaging the cream into his skin. She started with his abs, when she moved to his abdomen, he groaned again.

She moved on to his chest and shoulders, making sure he wouldn't burn like he had in Hawaii.
"Can we go swimming now?" Jon asked when Melody finished.
Melody was still sitting on top of his and he held his hands on her hips, his thumbs tracing the outsides of her bikini bottoms.
"What's gonna happen when we get in the water? We can't do anything." She reached down to kiss him. "You have to wait 'till tonight, love."
"I'm happy with you right here." He answered her.

They spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach. Once in a while the kids came over to tell them what they were doing but each time they went back to their games.

The beach started cooling down and soon enough the kids wanted to go. So they helped packing and bring everything back to the cars.

Stephanie followed Jon with her car, when they didn't turn at their street they got confused.

Jon didn't want their family day to end and suggested going out for dinner.

At the restaurant it took the host a while to arrange them a table for ten which made Jon make a mental note for a good tip. After all the trouble they finally found seats for everyone.

At least it was more structured then it was at home, the kids behaved well and surprisingly they didn't complain.

Jon and Melody sat in the middle with all the kids around them.
"See, it is nice." Melody said like she had the night before.
Jon took her hand. "I wouldn't change it."
She was glad he wouldn't cause she wouldn't either.

It took longer than usual to get dinner but with the added people that only made sense.

After dessert the waitress brought them their bill. Melody said she'd pitch in but Jon waved it away.

He paid the bill, adding a nice tip for their waitress that had gone through all the trouble.
Finally they were on their way home.

Before everyone could run to their rooms, Jon stopped them, telling them they were all going to watch the movie this time.

With a few grunts and groans they finally relented and helped getting everything ready, making bag after bag of popcorn and finding potato chips. The little ones got all the blankets and comforters they had slept on to sit on the floor.

They came off the stairs, dragging everything behind them, Jake and Romeo showed Faith where they'd watch tv.

The rest grabbed all the bags of popcorn and chips and followed Stephanie and Jesse to the room.
Steph and J sat on one couch while the three other boys sat on the opposit couch.

Jon and Melody walked in as last. Jon finally made the projection screen appear, making four kids go wow.
He gave them a few options and amazingly they all agreed on a movie to watch.

They watched the movie peacefully without any comaints, it amazed both Jon and Melody.
After the movie they left the mess and everyone went to their rooms. Faith still didn't want to sleep on the other side of the house. Which gave Jesse and J a task of dragging a mattress to Jake's room. Romeo didn't want a slumber party this night and slept alone in his room.

Finally Melody had time alone with her Jon.

After a day at the beach, they quickly showered together and got in bed.

For soms reason he looked even hotter when his hair was soaked. Melody pushed his hair from his face and kissed him. "So pretty." Melody sighed.
Jon chuckled. "Pretty?"
"Oh whatever. Hot? Sexy?"
"Mmm"

He kissed her back, smoothing away her own wet hair.

Melody's breathing got faster when he pushed in to her. Touching her skin, letting his hands roam over her. The breathing hurt more than it had all they but she wanted Jon.

His hand slid between her legs, playing with the wetness he found, sliding his finger in her.

Melody gasped but was glad Jon didn't notice she fought to catch her breath again.

She moaned when he moved his lips from hers to her chest, finding her soft breasts, he kissed a way to find her nipple.

"Jon" Melody moaned. They'd been waiting all day, she wanted more. Him and now.

He reached back up and kissed her as he moved to settle between her legs.

Melody's breathing quickened, in anticipation, Jon thought. He gently moved inside her. He had waited all day, he wanted it to last.

He made his strokes long and slow, making it pleasurable. He leaned down on her and continued to kiss her, noticing her breathing getting even more laboured.

"Jon." She moaned again or so he thought. "Jon." She said between breaths. "It hurts." She finally managed. "Stop."
Jon held still and stretched his arms so he could see her. "What hurts?" He asked confused, looking down at where they were joined, she couldn't possibly be hurting there even if she did have a miscarriage, two days ago she was fine.
"Breathing."
"What?!" He looked back up at her.
"It hurts" She repeated.
Jon got off of her. "Come on, sit up." He helped her up.

Melody was breathing heavily, feeling painful stabs with every breath in and out.

Jon got up from the bed, found his clothes and put them back on, then found Melody's.

"What... Are... You... Doing?"
"Whaddaya think? Taking you to a hospital." He almost snapped with annoyance.
"Don't... Need... Hospital."
"You can't breath." He said annoyed. How could she think she didn't need a hospital now?

He helped her to get dressed, then to get up.

"Can you walk?" He asked worried.
"Yeah."

When they reached the bedroom door she was already out of breath.

"Just wait here. I gotta tell Steph we're going to the hospital."

Melody watched him walk down the hall and quietly open a door.

He returned a minute later. "Come on." He picked her up, sure she couldn't manage the stairs.

She was breathing heavily in his ear, usually he loved that, now, it scared him to death.

Chapter 126

The next day was much busier at Jon's house, Melody's children arrived in the afternoon.

Even though it was busy Melody was glad all the kids had become friends. She had forgotten to mention what had happened the week before to Jon's children, making it a not so pleasant surprise.

In the first hour Tyler had his cast signed by everyone.

Both Melody and Jon thought it was nice to watch. Stephanie got a marker first so was the first to sign the cast, she made her note along with a signed heart. Second was Romeo after his insistent whining that he wanted to sign it too, he drew a car.

Jake and Jesse were a little less excited to draw anything and just signed their names to the get well wishes.

It was a nice sight to see that Jon's children cared about hers.

"Does it hurt?" Jake asked when he finished writing his name.
"Not really." Tyler told him.
That gave Romeo and idea, he reached out and poked the cast. "How 'bout that?" He wondered.
"No."
Romeo poked again, in a different spot. "That?"
"No." Tyler saw where Romeo was going with his game.
Romeo tried again. "Now?"
Tyler let out a sceam, making everyone else look up in panic then started laughing. "No."
Romeo stared at him with wide eyes.
"Idiot." Jesse said to Tyler but the sight of his youngest brother made him laugh too.

They spent the afternoon around the house. It was a beautiful day but not one to go out, it was their vacation.

Melody and Jon enjoyed the sunshine outside the living room's terrace.

"I can do two weeks of this." Melody said, comfortably with Jon in one of the double sunbeds.
"I bet you can but aren't you working?" He asked. After all Melody had told him she couldn't take more days off of work.
Melody smiled. "Not much, I took a few days off. I only have to work Thursday and Friday this week." She told him, making a smile appear on his face too.
"I can keep you right here for days."He hugged her tighter and held her for a few minutes.

"Can't... breath... Jon"
He let go. "Sorry." With all his working out, he forgot his own strengh, he thought. He was glad she took some days off anyway so they could spend time together.
Melody took a few breaths until she could breathe again.

Before they knew it, the whole afternoon had passed by without them knowing it.

"Dad, I'm hungry." Came Romeo's complaining voice from the french door behind them.
Jon looked over at him, then to his watch, surprised it was almost 6. "Dinner in a few minutes." He told him.
"But I'm hungry now." Romeo complained again.
"You'll survive." Jon said as he sat up, stretching his back before he stood up.

Romeo disappeared again and as Jon got everything together, Melody went ahead to the kitchen.

When she stood infront of the big fridge, she noticed she was out of breath and deep breaths hurt. She tried to breathe slowly to make it go away.

Jon walked in with the glasses they had left outside. "You okay?" He asked as he put the glasses down on the counter next to her.
Another slow breahe and Melody answered, "Yeah, I'm good." She lied.

Melody opened the fridge and started looking for food for 10. Them all together in one house would cost a fortune on groceries.

But she found everything she needed and started preparing dinner with Jon's help. It was nice to see him helping, now that she knew he could make spaghetti, she just had to see what more he could do other than the dishes.

While they cooked they had Romeo, who came to complain again, set the table for ten. The poor boy ran back and forth three times as much as he usually would when he had to set the table.

Finally he sat down in his spot and waited for the food the appear in front of him.

"He's really hungry." Jon observed.
Melody gave him a look with a question of how he knew in her eyes.
"He doesn't sit and wait for things." Jon grabbed a slice of bread and put it in the toaster.

A minute later he walked out to Romeo and dropped the piece of toast on his plate then made his way to the large staircase to shout up to the rest that dinner was ready.

As expected with 8 children, dinner didn't go easy. They all talked over each other or told the other to shut up while they talked.

Hopefully that would get better with time or Jon would most likely go crazy. He was glad he had time with his kids and Melody's kids but didn't like shouting at the table.

After all they had a lovely day together. After dinner they watched TV which mostly made everyone be quiet apart from the opions about something they saw every few minutes.

When bedtime for the little ones came around so did the noise again. All three of them needed to say good night to everyone personally, something Jon only had seen Faith do but now his boys followed her.

Upstairs Faith and her brothers slept in the guests rooms on the other side of the house. When Melody explained to Faith where she was sleeping she started to complain. Melody knew Faith with clingy and shy when she was in places she didn't know so gave in and found her another place to sleep.

It took 20 minutes to get them all in bed. When Romeo heard about it he had the genius idea of a sleepover party.

Jon didn't want any more trouble and just wanted to get in his own bed. He found all the blankets, sheets and comforters he could and put them all on the floor in Romeo's room. Jake and Faith found their places in the comfortable heap of softness and their parents wished them a good night.

"Isn't this nice?" Melody teased when they were finally in Jon's bed.
Jon grunted.
"What? How do you think it's gonna be when we do live together?"
"More stractured." He said. He wasn't going to let her talk him out of it. He loved Melody and her children, if he could have her with him all the time, he'd do anything.

"Your kids would have a good influence on mine. Did you see the tiny terrors when they said good night to everyone. They never do that." Jon said.
"Yeah and Tyler would have two more little ones to tease." Melody countered.
"Lots of joy." Jon wasn't sure if he meant it sarcastic or not. "But best of all, I'd have you right here."

He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her firmly.

"Fuck, you're hot." He said when he felt her heat against him. Annoyed, he got up and went to the bathroom.

Leaving Melody alone by surprise. She knew she was hot, she'd been feeling warm all evening.

Jon returned a minute later with a glass of water and a box of pills.

"Jon-" She wanted to complain.
"No, you're not fine. Take the damn pills." He ordered.
Reluctantly she did as she was asked.
When she finished Jon took the glass again and placed it on the side table and got back in bed next to her.

Melody laid back down next to him. Other than feeling hot and painful breathing she didn't feel that bad. Not bad enough to take painkillers.

Jon held her against his side, his arm around her, he softly stroked her side. He could feel her cool down against him in a few minutes.

"Is it working?" He asked.
"Yeah." Melody answered short.
He sighed, but she couldn't blame him for caring so turned around to snuggle against his side.
"You're not fine, you should see a doctor."
"Can we first see if the pills fix it?" They had their vacation, she didn't want it ruined by going to see a doctor.
"Fine."

The pills did work and Melody did feel better a few minutes later. She didn't feel hot anymore and breathing became less painful.

"I love you." She said in the darkness of their room.
"I love you too." Jon answered half asleep.
Melody left him be and a minute later she could hear him snore.

Chapter 125

Sunday hadn't gone exactly as Melody had planned. Usually Sundays were pretty calm days for her but today Robert was there too and the children loved the attention of both their parents.

She had intented so have a peaceful day, forcing Tyler to do the same but to no avail.

As soon as they got home from the hospital, Faith wanted to play games. She never had the oppurtunity anymore to play with her mum and dad together and she took it.

In the afternoon she recieved a call from Jon who told her to rest but after her explanation, he understood.
Robert ended up staying for dinner, which Melody still wasn't in the mood for preparing and they ordered in, making it easier.

After dinner, the children packed their bags and were ready to spend a week at their dad's. Melody had told Robert about the week after and he was okay with it, just as she had hoped.

Usually she didn't have a hard time saying goodbye to her children but now she didn't want to let Tyler and J go. She felt the need to be a caring mother and take care of them but she couldn't, instead she wished them good luck with their final tests.

The house was quiet when everyone had left. So quiet that she could hear her own breathing. When she listened closer, she didn't think it sounded quite right. Her thoughts were confirmed when she started coughing. It took a long minute for her to catch her breath again.

Luckily her headache had gone during the gone, she was convinced she was getting better, just the cough that needed to clear up, it had been there for more than a week now.

The rest of the night she watched tv, she would have phoned Jon like she always did but he had a concert. Another week and he'd be back, she looked very much forward to it. Having him around her always made her happy, if only she could have him around her all the time. Soon she'd live only 10 minutes from him.
She finally decided to get the apartment she went to view, it was perfect and she didn't want to look for more. Tomorrow she'd go sign the papers for it. Then, when the tour was over she'd finally move to New York. Only a few more months.

The next morning Melody was back at the hotel, hoping her boss would not send her home, her cough hadn't cleared up, it wasn't exactly as bad as last week, maybe a little better.

It seemed strange to her, one day she was fine, the next she wasn't.

During lunch she phoned Jon and told him she was signing the papers for the apartment tonight.
He still liked the idea of her moving in, regardless of how many kids would be around but he was excited to have her at least a little closer. For the next two months she'd be with him, maybe he could finally convince her during that time. Once he had his heart set on something, he wasn't letting go again. His heart was set on Melody and wanting her with him, to live with him.

He knew she wanted to too, she just wouldn't look past how difficult it would be.

When she got home, for once she didn't phone Jon but Robert to check on her sons. According to Robert they were both just fine but Melody needed to talk to them and new she had a better shot at that if she'd phone him instead of the boys their cells.

The week past incredibly past, maybe because she looked so much forward to the next week, she couldn't wait for this one to be over.

Near the end of the week, she noticed how her breathing had become laboured a few times during the day, surprising her, she wasn't in such a bad shape, was she? Maybe Jon was right about running, maybe she needed to give it a try too.

Those thoughts disappeared as her breathing returned to normal, she definitely wasn't the working out type.
On Saturday morning she was getting ready to pick up Jon from the airport. He would arrive in a little over an hour so she had to get ready and hurry.

She brushed her hair quickly, put on yesterday's clothes, sleeping in hadn't been such a good idea. She raced through the kitchen, grabbing her purse from the counter, through the hallway, the front door and right into someone.

"Where are you going in such a hurry?"
She looked up to see who it was, already recognizing the voice. "To pick you up." She smiled at him.
"Geez, Melody, how fast were you running?" He asked worried.
Melody hadn't heard how laboured her breath sounded again. She took a few breath to make it calm down. "See, all good." She said when it sounded somewhat normal again. "How come you're here?"
"Couldn't wait to see you so made everyone go home early." He bent down to kiss her.
"I missed you too."
"I missed you more but I didn't think it through, I need to pick up the kids in two hours." He explained.
His kids were spending the afternoon with him so they could pack and go to the Jersey house before dinner time.
"Well, I'm all packed." Melody said, she was just as ready to go.
"You don't mind?" He asked.
"I can help you repack." She grinned at him, how could she mind that?

The drive to New York took the usual hour, the next hour they spent packing so they'd have more time to help Jon's kids pack when he picked them up.

Just as Jon had planned out, they arrived in New Jersey before dinner. This time the electrics worked and the fridge had been stocked. He was glad he still had domestic help even though it wan't daily, this way he did't need to shop, clean or make beds.

The childreb put away the stuff they had brought and Jon and Melody figured out dinner.
A little while later they all sat infront of the tv with their dinner in their lap. The tv was on but nobody really paid attention to it. Jake and Romeo suggested all kinds of things they could do during the next two weeks. While Jesse and Stephanie asked about their uncle Richie.

Jon was so glad he could them he was fine. The last week of the tour had been hard without him. Fans made him think of Richie, making it even harder. Now he knew he'd be back in June. Just a little while longer until they could play together again.

Melody knew he had had a hard week about it. He had phoned her in the middle of the night with his worries and told her about the concert. The next day she watched videos and saw how torn up he was. She was glad then that she had suggested him to phone the center, to see how Richie was doing.
After dinner, they watched a movie but soon enough Jesse and Stephanie said their goodnights, not really caring for the movie.

The two younger boys watched the rest of the movie, while Jon had hoped they'd get bored of it and he'd get some private time with Melody. The movie went on without losing either of the boys their attention. His attention had been long gone, Melody was snuggled into him, her breasts against his side, he could feel them and couldn't take his mind off of it again.

The movie finally finished, much to Jon's relief, and he sent the boys upstairs to get read for bed. When they left the room, he turned around to Melody and kissed her deeply, making her want more. He tasted every inch of her mouth before he let her go with a gasp. This time the sound of Melody's breathing didn't have him worried.

He sent Melody upstairs while he quickly cleaned up the living room, he needed to get upstairs as soon as possible.

When he walked up the stairs, he noticed both Jake and Romeo's lights were still on, getting ready for bed, not going to bed.

In his own room, he quickly took off his shirt and jeans, pulling on sweatpants instead, even though he knew they wouldn't last longer, at least they were looser.

“I’m just gonna say good night to the two little ones.” Jon said as he left his bedroom and Melody walked back in from the bathroom.

She let him go and stood by the patio doors of the bedroom. She could see the river from here last time she was there during day time but it was too dark now so she looked up at the stars. Melody could hear Jon talking to Romeo across the hall when he was about to close his bedroom door.

“You’re a big boy; you can close your door.” She heard him say in a soothing voice. “Ok then, just an inch. Good night.” He decided and walked across the hallway to Jake’s room.

He gave him a hug and a kiss and wished him good night before closing the door and walking back to the room Melody was waiting in.

She was still looking at the stars and didn’t hear him walk in.

He slipped his arms around her waist and she gave a start, not expecting him.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” He said apologizing.
“You didn’t scare me, those stars out there are just so pretty, and I could stare at them for hours. At least you can see them from here; I can’t see much of them at home.”
“Yeah, they are pretty. I can’t see them in New York either but here I can.” He said holding her, resting his chin on her shoulder and looking out at the stars too. “You should come inside before you get even more sick.” He whispered , hugging her tighter around her waist.
“It’s not that cold.” She argued.
“But you’re just in a t-shirt and panties.” He said back.
“They’re called hipsters smarty and you’re just in sweatpants!” She said chuckling.
“Want to take them off?” He said with a smirk.
She turned around in his arms, pushed him inside and kicked the door closed.

He stopped her and kissed her passionately. He reached up to her breast under her t-shirt and circled a finger around her stiffened nipple.

Melody ran her hand through his chest hair, happy he was only wearing sweatpants.

Wanting to be closer he pulled Melody’s t-shirt over her head, slowly walking her back to the bed and laying her down on it. He lowered his hands to her waist as he joined her on the bed and pulled her hipster over her hips then tossed it away.

He looked back up at her and saw her smile as his hands roamed between her legs, gently pushing her thighs apart.

She let out a sigh when he slid a finger inside her. He reached back up and kissed a trail back up to her breast taking a nipple in his mouth, making Melody moaned softly.

She spread her legs instinctively when he moved between her, wanting him close.

He kissed her and slowly slid inside her.

Once he was fully inside her, Melody wrapped her legs around his waist to hold on as he quickened his tempo and thrusted in her.

“Oh Jon.” She gasped as he started thrusting even faster. It had been a whole month, she needed him and was sure he needed her too.

Soon she could feel herself coming and reached to take his face in her hands so she could kiss him again. Jon kissed her deeply back before he let go to nuzzle her neck. He started kissing her neck and shoulder,  thrusting even harder, almost reaching his point of release when he felt hers.
“Oh Jon, ooooooh”. She moaned as she came and could feel his warm cum shoot inside her as he groaned with his release.

He slowly withdrew from her, pulling her into his arms and kissed her.

Chapter 124

Two police officers stood on her front door step. This can’t be happening, she thought, this couldn’t be it.

“Miss Walker?” The officer on the right asked, he looked older than his colleague.
“Yes.” Melody couldn’t say more.
“I’m officer McAdams and this is officer Johnson. We’re here regarding your sons Jon and Tyler.” He explained.

Melody ignored her phone that was still asking for her. Officer Johnson bent down and picked it up. “Do you mind?” He asked.

Melody shook no, letting him answer it. “What happened?” She could finally ask.

Officer Johnson took the cell phone and turned away. “Hello, this is officer Johnson of the Woodbrige police department, may I ask who I’m talking to?”
“Officer?” Jon asked surprised.
“Yes sir.”
“Whap happened?” Jon asked before the officer could ask him again who he was. “Are the boy okay, did something happen?”
“I can’t tell you sir.”
“Why not?” Jon asked annoyed.
“Because I don’t know your relation to Miss Walker, I am sure she will tell you as soon as she can.” He explained calmly.
“Fuck.” He swore, he needed to know and he needed to know now. If it was anything bad, he needed to talk to Melody.
“Please calm down sir, Miss Walker will call you back when she can.”
“Fine.” He growled.
“Goodbye sir.”
“Bye.”

Officer Johnson disconnected the call and walked back to the front door where officer McAdams just finished his own explanation. He took his place again and gave Melody her phone back.

The officers ended the conversation, said their goodbyes and left.

Shocked, Melody watched them leave. A shiver brought her back to where she was. She turned around and went inside. The view of the staircase reminded her of what she had to do. She dialed a number and hoped for a quick answer.

When the phone was answers, she didn’t wait to speak. “Rob, I need you to get over here.”
“What? Melody? Why?”
“Jon and Tyler went out and I just had the cops at the door, they’re in the hospital, I need to go there and you have to come here for Faith and Ryan. I need to go see Jon and Tyler.” She didn’t know what to say first and rambled.
“Jon? Our Jon?”
“Yes, our Jon!”  What other Jon, she added in thought.
“Okay, I’m on my way. What happened?”
“Another car hit them. Jon’s fine, Tyler passed out and he didn’t want to leave him, I need to go.” She repeated.
“Yes, go. Call me back.”
“I will.”

Melody disconnected the call, during her call she had made her way up the stairs. She opened Ryan’s bedroom door and quickly told him she had to go out without mentioning what had happened.

On her way out, she phoned Jon back.

He answered on the first ring. “What happened Mel?”
“They got hit by another car. The officers said they were both okay.”
“You’re going to the hospital?” He asked.
“Of course, on my way there now.” She said.
“You’re-” He wanted to complain she was driving while she was phoning again.
“Hands free system Jon!” She told him again.
“Fine, let me know when you get there and how things are.”
“I will, I’m almost there.” She told him.
“Okay, I’ll talk to you later.
“Okay.” Melody pushed the button to end the call and continued her way.

While she drove she couldn’t stop her mind. What if the same thing had happened that happened to her and her sister years ago? What if they weren’t okay?

A few minutes later Melody walked in to the emergency room and made her way to the nurse’s station. She spoke to the first nurse she noticed, quickly telling her about her boys and what had happened.

The nurse, nodded, knowing what Melody was talking about and took her to a cubicle, carefully opening the curtains to let Melody walk in.

Melody couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw her son in the bed. He had hurt himself often enough playing hockey and football but never this bad. When she took his hand and he didn’t react, tears started rolling down her face.

The nurse stepped up to Melody. “He’s alright, he broke his elbow but we’re just waiting for him to wake up, any minute now. He might have to stay the night.” She explained calmly, her voice was soothing to Melody.

Melody nodded without taking her eyes off of Tyler. The large bandage covering from above his right eye to the side of his face made it clear he had a big cat. She had seen him with cuts and bruises, not even that long ago, but this was terrible.

Finally she looked up at the nurse. “Where’s Jon?”
“Another nurse took him to the cafeteria. He didn’t want to leave his brother.”

Melody nodded again. If only she had been that lucky years ago. He boys were both fine.

Just then another nurse walked in, followed by her oldest son.

Melody turned away from Tyler and wrapped her arms around J.

Both the nurses quietly left their cubicle.

“Mom, I’m so sorry.”
Melody let him go and tilted his head so she could see his eyes, full of regret and worry. “It’s not your fault.” She told him strictly. How she wished someone had told her the same thing years ago.
“But I didn’t see the other car coming.” He continued.
“You didn’t see him, it’s not your fault.” She repeated.

He finally nodded and Melody wrapped her arms around him again, glad he was alright.

Quietly a nurse walked back in, making Melody look up without letting her son go.
“The police want to ask a few questions.”

Slowly Melody let go of her son, looking down at his face.
He sniffed and quickly wiped his face, feeling a little embarrassed.
Melody glanced over at Tyler, who hadn’t moved at all, then followed the nurse along with her son.

The nurse lead them to a private room where the two officers that had been at the door were waiting for them.

Officer McAdams told J they needed to ask a few questions as soon as possible but if he wasn’t up to it, they’d try later.

Since he was over 18, he could do the interview on his own and assured his mom he’d be fine on his own.

After Melody watched him go with the officers, she turned around to go back to the nurse’s station, asking where she could make a phonecall.

She phoned Robert first, telling him everything was alright, she told him Tyler’s injuries and that J was being questioned by the police. Robert promised to stay with their younger children so she could stay with their sons as long as she needed to.

Next, she dialed Jon’s phone number, she was glad he answered in an instant.

“Melody?” He asked, even though the caller ID said so.
“Everything’s alright. Tyler broke his elbow and got a big cut, he’s still passed out though.” She explained.
“And J?”
“He’s fine, already discharged with some bruises. He’s talking to the police now.” She continued.
“What about you? Are you okay?” He asked, not only thinking how worried she must be but of her past too.
“Yeah, I’m alright. I thought about Lucy, but I’m okay.”
“Okay, tell the boys to recover fast. I wish I could be there for you.”
“You’ll be here soon enough.” Melody said, it was only one more week now.
“Yeah, I’ll phone you in the afternoon.” He ended their call.

She only made two phone calls and went back to find Tyler where nurses were running in and out the cubicle. Worried, she picked up her pace. When a nurse with bloody hands walked past her, Melody asked her what happened.

“Tyler? Oh no, he just got moved upstairs.”

Relieved, Melody followed the instructions to Tyler’s room .

When she found his room, she was even more relieved to see him sitting up in the bed. She rushed over to hug him.

“Mom, I’m alright.” He said when Melody didn’t let go.
“Are you sure?” Melody asked, still concerned.
“Yes, my head hurts but it’s okay.” He confirmed. “Where’s J?”
“He’s talking to the police about the accident.”
“Oh right.” He tried to remember what happened. “They don’t need to talk to me right? I don’t really remember.”
“I’m sure they’ll understand you need more rest.”

For the first time all night a doctor walked in along with a nurse, to ask Tyler some questions and explain the injuries to Melody.

The police also joined their room to tell her about the accident. They explained how they were looking for the other car. They had been hit right behind Tyler’s seat, making him hit his head.

Officer McAdams promised to keep them informed if they found the person that caused the accident.

The doctor continued his own explanation when the officers left the room, leaving J behind. “So if Everything looks good in the morning, he should be able to go home.”
Melody nodded.
“Then he just needs to get the stitches out in a few weeks and the cast in about six weeks.” He continued.
Melody nodded again, the doctor finished his explanation and left the room, the nurse stayed behind.
“Do you wish to stay the night? He’s 17, you’re allowed to stay with your child during the night.”
“Yeah, I’d like that.”

With that the nurse went to arrange what she needed so Melody could stay the night.

“What about you?” She turned to J. “Want me to call dad so you can go home?”
“Yeah. I guess.” He shrugged.

It only took Robert a few minutes to get over to the hospital.

The nurses made an exception and let him stay with Tyler for a few minutes before leaving with J.

Once she was alone with Tyler, Melody settled on in the recliner chair next to his bed. As she finally relaxed, she realized she hadn’t been feeling well a few hours ago. Her headache returned, along with the pain in her chest.

Chapter 123

Melody spent Friday peacefully to herself. Until 3.40pm that is, the kids got home and noise returned to the house. All day it had been quiet but now 4 people were talking at once, talking about their day or the plans they made for the weekend.

When J and Tyler brought up a party they were going to on Saturday night Melody reminded them they still had to work at the cd store during the day, like they always did. Melody’s job there might have become needless, but theirs hadn’t, she also reminded them of the last few tests they still had during the last week of school.

Grumpily both boys went downstairs to their room. At least now she only had two voices talking at her. To be fair she reminded them of their homework too. Then nobody had to remember last minute homework at their dad’s house. Which she was sure they did since they always did it at hers.

After 20 minutes, her little bit of peace returned. She lied back down on the couch and tried to enjoy the extra few minutes of quiet. Her headache weren’t as bad anymore but still very present.

Her few minutes didn’t take long and Faith bounced back into the living room, jumping the last two steps from the stairs, creating a bang.

Melody sighed, quiet just never worked with kids.

“Faith, don’t do that.”
“Why not?” She asked innocently.
“It’s a lot of noise.”
“Why?” She asked again.
“It is, keep it down or go to your room.” She usually got annoyed when Faith started her why questions, Melody was still desperately hoping for that faze to pass.
“Okay.” Faith sat down on the other couch and flipped on the tv.

Just the tv, Melody thought to herself, it’s not that loud.

But she knew Jon didn’t have a concert tonight and decided to listen to him instead. His voice was nicer than the tv. Melody got up and went to her room, picked up her phone where she had left it and dialed Jon’s number.

After talking to Jon for a while she promised to phone him back when she was going to bed later on. Now she still had her job as a mother and needed to prepare dinner. Definitely something teenage boys didn’t do. In fact she wondered how they would survive at college and just hoped there would be a dining hall or something like it.

Once again Melody braced herself for the noise that would come with dinner. Unlike yesterday she prepared a dinner herself. It wasn’t much but it would do just fine.

During dinner, chatter started again, a mother never got rest. She knew that fact and tried to listen to what they were telling her and tried to ignore how bad she felt. Her headache had already returned and it wasn’t going to change now either, so she let them be and let them talk about their day.

Hearing them talk happily helped her though, there was nothing that could make her happier than the happiness of her children. If they were happy, she was happy. Even though she didn’t feel well, she was happy to listen to them.

She was glad to hear about the art project Faith got to do in the afternoon. Interested in what Ryan learned in History class and happy for both J and Tyler to only have 2 more tests next week. She just hoped they studied enough for it, school was one of the things she found most important for them.

When bedtime came around, Melody was glad she could go to bed. After Faith had gone up to her room, Melody left the living room and went to her own bed. Thinking how much nicer it was when Jon was there last time, it had been easier and she was almost thankful he hadn’t let her out of bed.

Like she had promised she phoned Jon back as she got in bed.

Saturday was much quieter again. J and Tyler had both gone to work and Ryan was out with friends. Which only left Faith at home with Melody.

Usually Saturday was the day Melody went grocery shopping with Faith but today she just couldn’t be bothered. She knew there was enough food in the house for another week, so she skipped her usual routine. Instead she slept in until Faith woke her up with a knock at her door.

Of course Faith wasn’t going to give her the day off but Melody had a better idea. In the living room she picked out a few movies, some of Faith’s favorites and convinced her to have a day full of movies. Luckily it didn’t take Faith much to convince.

The girl got herself a box of Lucky Charms and a bowl and planted herself in front of the tv. Melody was glad she was easily convinced and not hard to please. She took her spot on the couch again and started the first movie.

By the time the fourth movie ended, her youngest son joined their movie party and decided on the next movie, much to Faith’s dislike but Melody let him. Faith had her chance to watch her movies all day; it was only fair if Ryan wanted to watch something now too.

Melody missed most of Ryan’s movie, after twenty minutes into it she fell asleep.

“We’re leaving early!”
The slam of the door woke Melody up. Confused she looked over at the clock, 7.16. “Where are you going?”
J walked in the room, followed by Tyler. “That party, told you about it yesterday.” J answered.
“Where is it?” They hadn’t mentioned where or who’s party it was, she couldn’t let them just go.
“It’s nothing really.” He answered. “We’re just celebrating school’s over.”
“Where?”
“Marina Park.”
“Your party is at a public park?” She asked suspicious.
“It’s hardly a party, we’re just hanging out.”
Melody looked up at Tyler.
“It’s just some people from school and we already said we’d be there.” He backed up his brother.
“Fine, but be home by midnight.”
“We will.” They both answered and left the room.

“Who wants pizza?” Melody asked the two other children.

Hours later she lied in her bed, waiting for Jon’s call, it was almost midnight and she was waiting up for her sons too. She just felt better if she knew they were home, safe and sound again.

A few minutes after midnight her phone finally started ringing, the noise irritated her and she tried to make it stop as fast as she could.

“Jonny?” She asked.
“Mel, are you alright?”
“Just a little worried.” She knew her could hear it in her voice anyway.
“Why are you worried?”
“Jon and Tyler went out and I’m not sure it was such a good idea.” Melody confessed.
“Why isn’t that a good idea? They’ve gone out before.” Jon pointed out.
“I know but they said this was at a park with some friends but it doesn’t sound right.”
“Parties happen at parks, Mel, they usually get caught though.”
“Caught? What do you mean?” She asked even more worried.
“Public park, noise, night time, usually cops show up.”

Melody’s eyes went wide with surprise. “What?”
“Don’t worry, when were they supposed to be home?”
“Oh.”
“I shouldn’t have let them go.” If something happened, she’d blame herself forever.
“15 minutes, isn’t much, they’re probably on their way home now.” Jon tried to calm her down again.
“I don’t know, I think there’s something wrong.”
“They’ll be home in a few minutes.” Jon tried again.

Melody's attention was turned abruptly to the sound of the doorbell.

“The doorbell.” She said to her phone.
“Must be them.”
“No,” she started getting out of bed, “they have keys, why would they ring the bell?”
“Because they’re too drunk to find them.”
“You’re not funny, I’m really worried here.” She told him off.
“I’m sorry but they’ll be fine.”

Melody finally reached the door and unlocked it to open it. She was just going to tell Jon she’d be right back but the phone slipped from her hand.

Chapter 122

By Thursday afternoon Melody was home again. As she got back in bed she got her phone and searched for Jon's number, his voice alone would be a comfort.
"Melody?" He answered the phone confused. She had to work until 5pm and it was only 1.30.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Should be asking you. Aren't you working?"
"No, my boss sent me home during lunch. He said I can't interact with people like that."
"That's good. Are you back in bed?" He was glad she was forced to rest now.
"Yeah, I just wanted to hear your voice before I went to sleep. Tell me about the last few days?" She'd gladly listen to him talk about his weekend and work. She'd even gladly listen if he was reading the phonebook to her.

Jon started telling her about the day he had spent with Jake. How they went to a morning movie, Jake's favorite restaurant for lunch and then went to the beach before they went to the arcade and another of Jake's favorite restaurants. Back at home Dorothea dropped off the other kids and Jake had a second birthday party.

He continued to tell her about the rest of his week, at home with the children and how leaving on Wednesday went much better than last time.

By the time he wanted to tell her about the concert last night Melody didn't react anymore. She must have fallen asleep. He wished her a good night and hung up the phone.

It made him think of the week before how he had watched her sleep on his laptop. That had been a rough day. He hadn't put much more thought in to it afterwards. He would love another baby, all his children were his little miracles, how couldn't he want another miracle? But Melody  was right, now wasn't the right time. They're relationship was still young, they needed more time with each other before anything could happen. He settled his mind on moving in together, for now at least.

Melody slept the remainder of the afternoon and didn't wake up until it was almost dinner time. Even the children getting home hadn't woken her up.

It took a great effort to get up but finally she got to the kitchen. She really didn't feel like cooking and checkes the freezer for ready made meals that she kept just in case.

Luckily she found a few dishes that would satifsy everyone. She wasn't sure yet if she was eating. Maybe just some soup or something but definitely not a lasagna or spaghetti that she had put in the oven.
Half an hour later she sat with the kids in front of the tv, eating ready made meals always felt better in front of the tv.
She remembered Jon saying school would be over in two weeks which made her think of her oldest son. After his years of being a bad boy, unbeknownst to Melody it was because of the divorce. A few months ago they finally talked it out and Melody was so proud of his improvements. He finally stopped being rude when she talked to him, his whole attitude changed. His friends had ditched him because of it but he claimed to be fine with it. His grades had gone back up and the sports scholarship he risked of losing was safe again. Melody was very proud of him for making those changes and so quickly. She couldn't believe he was going to college in a few months. He might be the oldest but he was still her baby.

Next year it would be the same for Tyler. At least it would take a few more years before Ryan followed both of them. She couldn't believe how fast time had gone. She could still picture them as little babies, tiny in her arms.

"Jon wants us all to stay at his place for two weeks, like a vacation." She finally said.
"A vacation at his house?" Ryan asked confused.
"Yeah," J answered before Melody could, "Steph told me they got a big mansion where they used to live."
"Oh." Was Ryan's answer.
"It's in two weeks. When school is over but I have to ask your dad first." Melody hoped he wouldn't object, afterall they were all staying with him for two months while she was gone.
"Cool." Tyler answered for all of them.

Melody still had time to phone Jon and decided to do it now rather than waiting up for him to call after the concert, by then she hoped to be sleeping. Thanks to time difference it was earlier for him than it was for her.
She said good night to her children and went to her room, not intending to get out until tomorrow morning. Her phone was still on the night stand where she had placed it after her last call. She picked it up and called the last number.

"Hey babe." Jon answered on the first ring like he usually did.
"Hi honey, how are you?"
"I'm good. How are you feeling? Any better yet?" He asked right back. He was concerned and rather be with her but he couldn't.
"Not really but I got a chance to ask the kids about your idea." Melody said.
"What did they say? Can I sent a cleaning team over there?" He hadn't been there in a month, it must have gotten dust and he didn't like making beds.
"You can but I have to ask Rob too but since they're staying with him while I'm gone he really shouldn't complain." Her voice started to sound hoarse again near the end of her explanation.
"It'll be fine. You haven't seen all of the house yet either." Jon pointed out. "It'll be great. The kids can all stay in the guest rooms unless Faith wants to bunk with Romeo and Jake again and you get to bunk with me." Jon said happily.
"Top or bottem?" Melody asked, referring to bunk beds.
"Any way you like it babe."
"That sounds so good." It had been a while after all.
"Don't start anything, you're sick, you need sleep." Jon ordered.
"I know, I know."
"Oh my God, she finally admitted she's sick. How high is your fever?" He joked.
"So funny." Melody said.
"I love you babe."
"I know you do."
"You don't love me back?" He joked again. "I can't go without you saying it."
"Maybe I shouldn't say it then and we'll have to keep talking."
"I'd love that idea but I'd like your sweet voice to come back so you really should rest." Jon said sweetly.
"Hmmm."
"I'll call you back in the morning okay?" He asked.
"Yeah and Jon?"
"Yeah?"
"I need to thank you."
"For what?" He asked confused.
"For helping me with J, if you hadn't told me, he'd probably still be mad at me."
"You don't need to thank me for that. That was all you." Jon said.
"Maybe, but you pointed out the problem that I didn't know. Did you notice Stephanie called him Jon a few weeks ago?" She asked.
Even though her voice was hoarse, he could hear she was proud. "Yeah I noticed."
"Maybe he'll stop being so stobburn and finally let people call him Jon again." She hated that he hated his name so much. For stupid reasons too, she thought. After all, it was only a name.
"Maybe."
"I love you honey." Melody said, she couldn't say goodbye without telling him either.
"I know you do. Good night."
"Have a good show."

They said their goodbyes and when Melody turned to put her phone back on her night stand her door slowly opened with Faith walking in.
"Can I sleep with you?"

Melody really didn't want her to get sick too but patted the bed on Jon's side. "Come on then."
Faith climbed in on the other side. Just before Melody turned off the lights, she said, "I like your picture with Jon. It's sweet."
"Thank you. Come here." She pulled Faith closer to hug her.

At least her little girl still had a lot of growing up to do before she was off to college. She didn't want to wonder how teenage years with her would be. It would be something entirely new, luckily it was still a few years away from now.

Who knows what'll happen in a few years from now. She had learned things didn't always work out like you planned. She had imagined her whole life when she was young but she hadn't thought of divorce or meeting the man that once covered her walls much more than they did now. Let alone have a relationship with him, an emotional and a physical one. She certainly hadn't thought that man would ask her to move in with him a few times while she kept turning him down.

But it was good things didn't turn out like they had been planned or she wouldn't have met him at all. If she had had a perfect relationship with her ex-husband, she probably wouldn't have Faith, their last attempt to save their marriage. If her life had been like she had planned when she was 16, she'd have two sisters now.
Two daughters named after their aunts, like she planned instead of three wonderful boys.

All in all her life was exactly like she wanted. Children that loved her. A man that wanted and needed her and most of all loved her very much. A man that she wanted and needed too. One she loved with all her heart, probably more than she had loved anyone before.

She gave Faith another hug and with happy thoughts she went to sleep.
