Chapter 116

Kierrsten, this is your warning: hot picture of Jon Bon Jovi

Thursday was the next day Jon had off. Tuesday afternoon he had flown back to Canada, only 24 hours after he had arrived at Melody’s house but he had concerts to perform and now he was his way to his next stop in New York.

If he knew Melody didn’t have to be up so early or he didn’t finish when he started, they could be together at the show tomorrow night.

He hoped Melody stayed at his place tonight, she hadn’t all week but tonight and until Tuesday he’d be sleeping in his own bed, hopefully she would too.

The flight from Quebec to New York was relatively short, considering how long other flights could be. They had spent the entire day in Quebec, undercover sightseeing, it didn’t happen much that they got a chance to but this time, they managed. After the entire day, he almost felt tired, but it was almost 8 pm, time to start a show and his body wasn’t going to rest. It was used to starting at 8 pm, getting fired up for some action. His body had gotten used to it during all the years, he knew he wouldn’t be sleeping until way past midnight.

Usually he wouldn’t be up alone all night, most of the times Richie hung out at his place before either ditching his hotel for Jon’s guest bedroom. Now David was going home and so was Tico, which left him alone. At least if he had Richie they’d stay up together, both unable to sleep but now he’d have to do that on his own. Watch some stupid after midnight movie or something. He knew he was just missing his best friend.

Most of all he missed Melody, but that was different than missing Richie, everything was nicer when she was near. He hoped again that she would be at his place even though they couldn’t have much time together, it would be some.

Tomorrow he’d spent the whole day with Jake, as promised. He had talked to all of his children during the last few days which made him miss them even more. In the end he asked Dorothea if they could just stay two nights at his place. He had to leave on Tuesday morning but would still have time to bring them to school.

It took a while but he convinced her, he knew why she was so reluctant to agree at first, he understood. She didn’t want to see them all so upset again but Jon was sure it was a good thing. Only two nights, he just needed to see them and he was sure the kids wanted to see him too, it would be fine.

Twelve more days after that and he had two weeks with them. He was already thinking of things they could do, definitely go to the beach some day. He had a few days he knew he had to work, but no more than that, he told himself. He was going to spent two weeks with them before leaving for another month.

This time there was no way he could see them in between until the week he had off before another three weeks of touring. After that it wall all over! Until it would start again.

At least he’d be home for the fourth of July. He loved watching the fireworks from the terrace; the kids their excitement made him love it even more. Having the kids for the fourth meant he wouldn’t have them for Thanksgiving but they’d be with him for Christmas.

He hoped to spent this year’s fireworks on the fourth with Melody too, since she was going to Europe to him, she could stay a week with him too but maybe she’d prefer to see her kids that week too. He’d figure it out later.

He was just about to check his watch when the plane hit some turbulence and grabbed onto his arm rests instead. He’d been telling himself for years that he wasn’t scared of flying any more but when the plane started shaking it still frightened him.

As the plane smoothed out again, he sighed a sigh of relief, at least this time Richie couldn’t make fun of him.

Time had passed while he had been lost in thoughts of the next few weeks and his watch told him they’d land in about forty minutes.

He tried to relax and not think of anything for the remainder of the flight, he had made all his plans for the next few weeks so he had nothing to worry about. Just the fact that he needed some sleep so he told his body to quit being so antsy and relax.

As usual they landed later than scheduled but that was okay, the relaxing feeling on the plane had finally started to work and the worked up feeling he had before was gone. He wasn’t exactly ready for bed yet but he was sure he could doze off if he tried again.

Instead he got up and walked off the plane onto the tarmac. After going through security, everyone said goodbye to each other and all got in their own cars.

Outside the airport Jon got in the waiting car and considered going to New Jersey instead of home but what if Melody did stay at his place. He knew she hadn’t before. She had only gone back to work on Wednesday and told him she didn’t like his apartment so empty without him that same night but today was two days later.

He sort of understood but hoped she would have stayed anyway. Maybe he should just go to New Jersey, then he could sleep with her. When the next two weeks were over, she could stay with him again, nice and close and he wasn’t going to let her go.

Being a Friday night it was busy on the streets even thought it was passed midnight. Tomorrow, actually, today he’d have a busy day with the fanclub and the concert afterwards, he was just glad he wasn’t David, for once he had most of the fanclub things.

Maybe he could convince Melody to come later, after she finished work. He knew she loved to watch him perform and the rest of the band, mostly him, he told himself.

The drive home took longer than expected and he tried to concentrate on relaxing again, if he did that, the easier it would be to go to bed. He laid his head back and watched the city pass by outside the windows of the car. The steady pace of the car had him drowsy in a little while. He was just going to close his eyes for a second, leaning further back in his seat.

When he opened them again he saw the familiar underground parking on the other side of the windows instead of the city. He rubbed his eyes, grabbed his things and got out of the car.

He made his way to the elevator, after saying goodbye to his driver, pushing the button to close the doors and the one for penthouse and waited for the elevator to start moving. He still didn’t like the elevator but he surely wasn’t going to do all those stairs now.

He kicked off his shoes and pulled off his socks as soon as he walked into his apartment; he didn’t bother to put them away.

In the kitchen he dropped his stuff on the table and hung his leather jacket over the back of one the chairs before continuing his way to his bedroom.

When he opened the door, the room was dimly lit by one of the bedside lights. Melody was on her side of the bed, facing his way but her eyes were closed. By the bed Jon pulled his shirt over his head and unbuttoned his jeans before taking them off and crawling into the bed next to Melody.

As he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close to him, he not only noticed she was wearing clothes but her eyes opening, she looked amazed and happy but sleepy.

“Go back to sleep.” Jon whispered to her before kissing her softly.

That photo is one of my favorites. So happy Melody was there waiting for him in the bed it was a perfect homecoming for him. Hmmm wonder what plans Jon has been making for his time off?

Thanks for the warning. I still melted all the way to the floor....I'd have no problems waking up to that :))
