Chapter 117

Later that night Melody woke up again, this time fully waking up due to the pain in her chest. It was a stabbing pain like someone was piercing knives through her longs. The itchiness in her throat only made it worse. The only thing she could do to relieve that was cough.

Once she started the coughing fit wouldn't stop. It scared her, she could hardly catch her breath between coughs and it hurt her longs even more.

A warm hand on back between her shoulder blades finally made her relax a little.
She turned to her left to see a worried look on Jon's face. She wasn't sure herself what was going on, she didn't have a cough before.

Jon softly stroked Melody's back which helped even out her breathing until she was finally breathing normally again.

Jon's hand didn't move from her back when he asked, "You alright?"
Melody nodded shortly, still a little breathless. "I'm okay."

He wan't convinced when she stood up and his hand fell away. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked again.
Melody nodded again as she walked around the bed and Jon's eyes followed her movements. "I'm just getting a drink." She reassured him. "Go back to sleep, I'll be right back." She said as she walked out of the room.

Her longs were still hurting but she tried to ignore it on her way to the kitchen.
She easily found a glass, she knew the kitchen well by now and poured herself a glass of water, draining the glass in one time.

After she put the glass away in the dishwasher, she took a teaspoon out of the cutlery drawer and found honey in the same cupboard coffee, tea and sugar were stored along with cups. Hopefully a teaspoon of honey would soothe her throat.

Later that morning Melody rushed back into the bedroom after her shower to get dressed.
Jon woke up when she walked in, noticing her all wet and wrapped in a towel, he disappointedly said, "Aw now I have to shower alone." and got out of the bed.
"Sorry but I have to get ready for work." Melody explained as she reached for a pair of panties before drying off.
"Right, work. About work, do you think you can join your friend Lori to the concert? I like having something pretty to look at." He smiled at her and walked closer to put his arms around her.
Melody smiled back up at him. "Only if I can be half an hour late."
"If you have to." Jon said with an exaggerated sigh like Melody always did. It would be better than noyhing. He bent down a little and kissed her before going to the bathroom.

Melody continued getting dressed and get ready for work. As she bent over to grab a bra from a drawer, the stabbing pain in her chest returned. She hoped she didn't get a mysterious coughing fit again. As she stood up, the pain eased a little. She wondered what it could be. At least she wasn't coughing, she thought.

They met again in the kitchen and kissed before Melody left.
"Have a good day." He told her as she got in the elevator.
"You too." She said before the doors closed and she went down.

In the lobby she was greeted by the doorman who wished her a good day too.

When she walked outside to walk the short walk to work the itchiness in her throat returned and with that another coughing fit that made the pain return even worse than before.
Breathless she arrived at work. Luckily there weren't many people there yet and nobody asked about it. She wouldn't know what to answer anyway. She was fine. She hoped she wasn't getting a cold again, now wasn't a good time to get sick, there never was a good time for that.

Her day at the hotel was as busy as every Friday was. At least now she had something to look forward to after work.

Jon had a busy day too, for once the fan club meeting was not for him but the fans got to see David's musical so he got to spent the afternoon with the fans. Which left Jon alone with Tico and Phil to do the sound check. Even without David it went easily.

Other than sound check he still had other things to do, arrangements to be made for after the tour. It kept him busy all day too.

During the day Melody got to hear Lori talk excitedly about the concert later that night. She felt a little left out to miss the beginning but soon she'd get to watch every show so missing half an hour from this one wasn't so bad and she knew who she was going home with after the concerts. If only she didn't get sick again before leaving. She had gotten sick before their last trip too. Then she had Jon to take care of her, now she wouldn't. She'd be alright, it would pass.

Lori left the hotel at 6 pm, as excited as she had been all day. Two more hours, Melody thought to herself, soon enough she could drive to the concert, sure Jon had made sure she could still get in.

At the stadium Jon was getting ready for the concert, backstage he was having dinner with the rest of the band before going to his dressing room to get ready to perform.

He changed his outfit for the show just before it was time to go on stage.

He watched the guys go on stage and waited for the opening tunes of the first song to walk up the stairs to the stage. As usual the crowd went wild with screams as he appeared. He still loved that feeling, it was amazing.

With amazing energy he played the first few songs. In only a little while Melody would be there to make his evening complete like she always did. It couldn't be long before she got there.

Melody was one of the last at the hotel, until 8 pm there always was someone at the front desk to check people in and that was Melody's job. During the day there were more people to help her but now she was leaving the hotel by herself.

Instead of driving her car, she decided to call a cab, she'd have a ride home anyway. As she stepped outside into the fresh air, it happened again, another coughing fit until she was breathless.

Painfully she got in the cab for the short drive, a few not too deep breath, smoothed out the pain until it was gone by the time she got to the venue.

A few minutes later she was looking around for familiar faces from the security team that still stood outside. She didn't recognize one of them.

With a little sigh she finally walked over to the ticket booth, to see if anything had been left there for her. Of course the lady at the booth wasn't very co-operative at first until Melody could finally show ID but nothing had been left for her.

Instead she went back over to the security guards, who wouldn't let her pass either, but after a long discussion finally got through to Matt on their walkie talkies.

Finally someone arrived with an access all areas ticket on a lanyard for her, finally she could go see her man.

As she walked through the building, she could hear Jon singing already, his voice getting louder the closer she got until she finally made her way to the first row and looked up at the stage with a smile.

When Jon noticed her a bright smile appeared on his face too. All of a sudden he felt even more into playing, more at ease, more want to make his show perfect.

After the show they met in front of Jon's dressing room, he was ready to go but the sweat wasn't a nice thing so he went in to change anyway but not before giving Melody a long, deep kiss.

He quickly got changed with Melody in the room, making suggestive looks and hurried out of the building when he finished, the sooner he got home the better. Last night Melody had been sleeping, but now she wasn't and it had been a while, he was about to burst and he was going to make sure Melody felt the same way.

Chapter 116

Kierrsten, this is your warning: hot picture of Jon Bon Jovi

Thursday was the next day Jon had off. Tuesday afternoon he had flown back to Canada, only 24 hours after he had arrived at Melody’s house but he had concerts to perform and now he was his way to his next stop in New York.

If he knew Melody didn’t have to be up so early or he didn’t finish when he started, they could be together at the show tomorrow night.

He hoped Melody stayed at his place tonight, she hadn’t all week but tonight and until Tuesday he’d be sleeping in his own bed, hopefully she would too.

The flight from Quebec to New York was relatively short, considering how long other flights could be. They had spent the entire day in Quebec, undercover sightseeing, it didn’t happen much that they got a chance to but this time, they managed. After the entire day, he almost felt tired, but it was almost 8 pm, time to start a show and his body wasn’t going to rest. It was used to starting at 8 pm, getting fired up for some action. His body had gotten used to it during all the years, he knew he wouldn’t be sleeping until way past midnight.

Usually he wouldn’t be up alone all night, most of the times Richie hung out at his place before either ditching his hotel for Jon’s guest bedroom. Now David was going home and so was Tico, which left him alone. At least if he had Richie they’d stay up together, both unable to sleep but now he’d have to do that on his own. Watch some stupid after midnight movie or something. He knew he was just missing his best friend.

Most of all he missed Melody, but that was different than missing Richie, everything was nicer when she was near. He hoped again that she would be at his place even though they couldn’t have much time together, it would be some.

Tomorrow he’d spent the whole day with Jake, as promised. He had talked to all of his children during the last few days which made him miss them even more. In the end he asked Dorothea if they could just stay two nights at his place. He had to leave on Tuesday morning but would still have time to bring them to school.

It took a while but he convinced her, he knew why she was so reluctant to agree at first, he understood. She didn’t want to see them all so upset again but Jon was sure it was a good thing. Only two nights, he just needed to see them and he was sure the kids wanted to see him too, it would be fine.

Twelve more days after that and he had two weeks with them. He was already thinking of things they could do, definitely go to the beach some day. He had a few days he knew he had to work, but no more than that, he told himself. He was going to spent two weeks with them before leaving for another month.

This time there was no way he could see them in between until the week he had off before another three weeks of touring. After that it wall all over! Until it would start again.

At least he’d be home for the fourth of July. He loved watching the fireworks from the terrace; the kids their excitement made him love it even more. Having the kids for the fourth meant he wouldn’t have them for Thanksgiving but they’d be with him for Christmas.

He hoped to spent this year’s fireworks on the fourth with Melody too, since she was going to Europe to him, she could stay a week with him too but maybe she’d prefer to see her kids that week too. He’d figure it out later.

He was just about to check his watch when the plane hit some turbulence and grabbed onto his arm rests instead. He’d been telling himself for years that he wasn’t scared of flying any more but when the plane started shaking it still frightened him.

As the plane smoothed out again, he sighed a sigh of relief, at least this time Richie couldn’t make fun of him.

Time had passed while he had been lost in thoughts of the next few weeks and his watch told him they’d land in about forty minutes.

He tried to relax and not think of anything for the remainder of the flight, he had made all his plans for the next few weeks so he had nothing to worry about. Just the fact that he needed some sleep so he told his body to quit being so antsy and relax.

As usual they landed later than scheduled but that was okay, the relaxing feeling on the plane had finally started to work and the worked up feeling he had before was gone. He wasn’t exactly ready for bed yet but he was sure he could doze off if he tried again.

Instead he got up and walked off the plane onto the tarmac. After going through security, everyone said goodbye to each other and all got in their own cars.

Outside the airport Jon got in the waiting car and considered going to New Jersey instead of home but what if Melody did stay at his place. He knew she hadn’t before. She had only gone back to work on Wednesday and told him she didn’t like his apartment so empty without him that same night but today was two days later.

He sort of understood but hoped she would have stayed anyway. Maybe he should just go to New Jersey, then he could sleep with her. When the next two weeks were over, she could stay with him again, nice and close and he wasn’t going to let her go.

Being a Friday night it was busy on the streets even thought it was passed midnight. Tomorrow, actually, today he’d have a busy day with the fanclub and the concert afterwards, he was just glad he wasn’t David, for once he had most of the fanclub things.

Maybe he could convince Melody to come later, after she finished work. He knew she loved to watch him perform and the rest of the band, mostly him, he told himself.

The drive home took longer than expected and he tried to concentrate on relaxing again, if he did that, the easier it would be to go to bed. He laid his head back and watched the city pass by outside the windows of the car. The steady pace of the car had him drowsy in a little while. He was just going to close his eyes for a second, leaning further back in his seat.

When he opened them again he saw the familiar underground parking on the other side of the windows instead of the city. He rubbed his eyes, grabbed his things and got out of the car.

He made his way to the elevator, after saying goodbye to his driver, pushing the button to close the doors and the one for penthouse and waited for the elevator to start moving. He still didn’t like the elevator but he surely wasn’t going to do all those stairs now.

He kicked off his shoes and pulled off his socks as soon as he walked into his apartment; he didn’t bother to put them away.

In the kitchen he dropped his stuff on the table and hung his leather jacket over the back of one the chairs before continuing his way to his bedroom.

When he opened the door, the room was dimly lit by one of the bedside lights. Melody was on her side of the bed, facing his way but her eyes were closed. By the bed Jon pulled his shirt over his head and unbuttoned his jeans before taking them off and crawling into the bed next to Melody.

As he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close to him, he not only noticed she was wearing clothes but her eyes opening, she looked amazed and happy but sleepy.

“Go back to sleep.” Jon whispered to her before kissing her softly.

Chapter 115

He softly knocked on the door, when no answer came, he tried if the door was unlocked but the knob didn’t turn either way.

He waited a minute before knocking again, a little louder this time, making sure it was heard.

This time he heard soft rustling inside and the door opened. “Jon.” She said surprised, not really knowing what to do.
“You should be resting.” He said.
Melody opened the door wider to let him inside. “I had to open the door, didn’t I?” She asked him smartly.
“I’m glad you did.” He kissed her when he straightened up from taking his shoes off.

He hugged her tightly but not too tightly so he wouldn’t hurt her, he had no idea how much pain she had.

“It’s only been four days and I’ve already missed you so much.” Melody said as she hugged him back.
“I missed you too. Come on, bed.”

He walked her through the kitchen to her bedroom. Melody already had enough of her bed, it was past 1pm and she had hardly moved from her bed but got in with him anyway. With Jon she’d like to stay in bed.

She snuggled up close to him; resting her head on his shoulder as his arms were wrapped around her they lied quietly comforted by each other.

“Melody, I’m sorry.” He said quietly and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
“Oh don’t be sorry, it’s nobody’s fault.” She told him.

Maybe it was for the better, with them not able to live together, how would they raise a child together?

“But wouldn’t it be nice?” Jon asked, wondering how she felt about the idea in the future.
“It would be but it’s not the right time. We only just met each other; we have to work on that relationship first.” Melody explained to him.
“What do you mean? What’s wrong with our relationship?” He asked confused.
“No, I didn’t mean it that way. We need more time for us two, maybe in a few years.” She tried to explain again.
“A few years? I’ll be old and grey by then.” He chuckled.
Melody moved her hand down, cupping him. “As long as this works.”
Jon moved to his side to face her and Melody’s grasp fell away. “Now don’t you start things like that.” He told her, wrapping his free arm around her waist, pulling her close, kissing her passionately.

His tongue slipped between her teeth as he kissed her. His hand moved over her back, softly stroking her side, until his hand cupped he breast. His lips lingered to her neck, making Melody moan in enjoyment as he found the perfect spot.

He let go of her and pulled away, reading her moan wrong. “Sensitive?” He asked.
Melody shook her head, “No, come back here.” She pulled him back for another kiss.

She didn’t feel sensitive enough to make him stop. Softly she could feel him stroking her back again, slowly making his way back to her breast like he wasn’t sure if he should.

Melody moved her own hand to his back as she lifted her leg over his, pressing against him, already she could feel he was getting hard.

Jon pulled away from their kiss again. “We got to stop.” He said a little hoarse.
“Why?” Melody couldn’t think of a reason to stop.
“Cause I don’t want to without you.” He looked her in the eyes.
Melody chuckled. “A man turning down a blowjob? Are you okay sweetie?” Her hand went from his back to his forehead.
Jon laughed and pulled her hand away to give her lips a quick peck. “Perfectly fine,” he smile, his stomach grumbled just as he said it, “a little hungry maybe. Have you had lunch?” He asked her.
“No but I haven’t been shopping, there’s not much around.” She explained.

Jon sat up next to her. “I’ll get us some things. Do you need anything in particular?”
Melody sat up with him. “I kinda need some more pads.” She said, a little ashamed of asking but she was sure he wasn’t going to let her come to the store with him.
“Okay.” He said simply, it wasn’t what she expected; Robert had always felt uncomfortable buying those kind of things for her. “Anything else?”

Melody got up and Jon followed her to the kitchen. On the counter Melody found her keys and took one off to hand to him. “You should get a copy of this.” She simply said.
Jon smiled at her before giving her another quick kiss. “I’ll be back in a bit, go lie down.” He ordered.

Melody didn’t really want to so she decided to lie on a couch in the living room to watch TV. She already felt a bit better, the pain was not as intense as it was when she woke up. She knew it was just painful because she was late.

In the store Jon picked out some main things, milk and orange juice, a loaf of bread, a bag of potatoes, a bag of pasta and some fresh fruits and vegetables.

When he walked through the snack aisle, he picked out some boxes of cookies before heading to his last stop in the personal hygiene aisle.

He was amazed with all the brands of pads and how many different kinds there were. It had been years since he had bought any. He finally picked the brand that he had heard of before, then wondered which ones he should get.

The tiny ones obviously wouldn’t absorb much so that ruled them out.

Then he noticed droplets on almost every package, it didn’t take him long to figure out what they meant. He picked a pack with the most ones, which also read ‘night’, with a second though he also picked a pack with one less droplet. Instead of debating any further about it he put both of them in his cart.

On his way to the register he decided to make a quick stop in the frozen foods department. He picked out a tub of ice cream, knowing Melody might like some.

Today he liked shopping, nobody had recognized him and he did love the days when they didn’t, he could be a normal person. It was probably because he was supposed to be in Canada at the moment.

When he got to Melody’s house he used the copy he had just made to open the door. It felt good to be able to open the door with his own key. Hopefully Melody could try out that feeling too.

Jon dropped the bags on the kitchen counter and noticed Melody in the living room. Forgetting all thought about dinner, he left the groceries for what they were and walked in to the living room.

Melody sat up as he approached and let him sit down, grabbing a pillow to lay down in his lap before she rested her head in his lap.

She liked having him close, glad he had flown home just for her. It made her feel special.

“Are you alright?” He asked as he stroked her hair.
“Yeah, I’m good.” She pretty much was.
“No pain anymore?” He could still picture her crying face from this morning.
“Just some cramps, not too bad.” Melody answered.
He was relieved it at least didn’t hurt as much anymore. “Shouldn’t you see a doctor?” He asked concerned.
Melody shook her head as an answer instead of speaking.
“But what if you were…” He said a little uneasy, not wanting to use the word pregnant.
“Even if I was, it wouldn’t have been bigger than this.”

Melody raised her hand to show him the tiny space between her thumb and forefinger, smaller than a pea.

“So it’s nothing, it just goes away with the rest.” She explained.
“Are you sure?” He asked, not really convinced about it.
“Yes. It’s not the first time I’m late or lost a baby, if it was that.” She sighed.
“You’ve lost a baby before?” Jon asked surprised.
“1 out of 4 women do and with age it happens more, that’s why we can’t be sure until 3 months, but let’s not talk about that.” Melody said quickly.
Jon nodded, he understood she wouldn’t want to talk about it, especially now.

He was surprised with what she said. 1 out of 4, that seemed a lot. He knew it happened but not that much.

They spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch, watching TV shows that weren’t very interesting but they were together and that was what they wanted and needed.

They hadn’t discussed it but they both knew Jon would have to leave the next day. Now he wouldn’t be back until Jake’s birthday but he was spending that was his son. Melody had to wait until the end of the month; she knew that and was happy with today.

Finally they both remember they were hungry.

Jon wouldn’t let Melody get up and went to the kitchen to cook himself. He could survive making pasta and some meat that he found in the freezer.

A little while later he handed Melody a plate and sat down next to her. She liked that he had cooked. It was only plain pasta, an almost burned sausage and a cut up tomato but that was good enough.

Jon finished his meal first and started stealing some pieces of food from Melody’s plate.
“Hey.” She said after he took a third piece of tomato. “Get you own food.” She told him.
“There’s nothing left.” He pouted.
Melody sighed in annoyance, she knew she couldn’t deny him anything. “Alright, but don’t touch my sausage, I like this sausage.”
Jon pouted again. “I thought you liked mine.”
“I wanted yours earlier but you wouldn’t let me.” She told him before taking a bite of her sausage.
Jon winced at her action. “You can’t do that with me.”
“What? No biting?” Melody asked when she finished her mouthful.

If she wasn’t allowed to bite would he allow her to suck? She didn’t care if she couldn’t get her own pleasure, pleasing him was enough pleasure on its own and she liked doing it. She just had to find another way to convince him.

“Nope, no biting.” Jon confirmed.
Melody pouted this time. “I’d kiss it better.” She said with a small smile. “Then I could lick it to make sure that pain is gone. When it is, I could wrap my lips around it and softly suck it into my mouth so it wouldn’t get cold, you know?” She teased him.

When she turned to look at him she noticed he had paid very close attention at what she had said.
“Uhu.” He answered. Her teasing had awaken his dick inside his jeans.
“And when we know it’s not cold, we should check if the meatballs didn’t get cold in the mean time. I’m sure they’d taste just as good.” She continued.
Jon groaned, why was she doing this? She knew he didn’t want to without her. Her teasing talk turned him on, she hadn’t teased him like that before and he kind of licked it.

“You know how sausages are sensitive at the top, do you think if I’d lick right at that spot, he’d like that too? Maybe I should wrap my hand around him and stroke him while I’m licking.” Melody went on, her attention back to the tv, like they were having a normal conversation.
Jon groaned again. “Stop teasing woman.” His voice was hoarse with the idea of her doing those things to him.

Melody put her plate on the coffee table. “I’m not teasing, I’d gladly follow through.” She smiled back at him. “But you won’t let me.”
“So it’s my own fault?” Jon asked.
Melody nodded, it was, he was the one holding back.
He groaned again. He wanted to, just not without her.

Melody leaned in to him, her hands on the waistband of his jeans. “Jon stop being so stubborn. I like doing it.” She popped the button. “I know you want to.” She opened the zipper, freeing his dick that desperately wanted out. “Oh you really want to.” She said at the sight of his hard cock.

She pulled his jeans down as Jon lifted his hips. “I don’t care if I don’t, pleasing you is enough pleasure for me.” She said as she wrapped her hand around him.

Jon groaned at the warm feel of her hand around him. Melody moved her thumb over the slit, to the sensitive spot underneath.

When he took a sharp breath she moved her hand down to let her lips cover the tip. He was getting even harder in her hand. She swirled her tongue around him, touching all the spots she knew he liked.

Her hand moved to his balls as she took him fully, sucking his whole length.

Jon groaned again at the feeling Melody was creating. His hands disappeared into her brown locks to follow the movements as she moved up and down. He wanted it really bad and knew he wouldn’t be able to hand on for long.

The feeling of her mouth almost felt as good as being inside her. It didn’t take much more until he could feel his balls tighten as Melody squeezed them.

“Mel, I’m gonna… Oh God.” His body tensed with his release, his head thrown back against the back of the couch.

Melody took his cue and swallowed every drop that shot out of him while she continued to roll his balls in her hands to make sure she got every last drop.

Jon let go of her hair when he relaxed again and pulled her up to him. “I love you.” He said, then pressed his lips to hers, kissing her deeply.

“Told you you’d like it.” Melody said when they gasped for air.
“Yeah but did you?” He countered back.
Melody gave him a quick kiss “I did.”
“And I thought to buy you ice cream to make you happy.” Jon almost pouted.
Melody’s eyes widened in surprise. “Ice cream?”
Jon laughed, he loved her reaction.

Chapter 114

“Oh come on pick up.” Melody muttered as she disconnected the call she had just made and pressed the button to redial. She could hear the dial tone and hoped that the third time really was the charm.

“Melody?” Came a quiet, hoarse whispered answer.
“Jon, can you get on your laptop. I need to talk to you face to face.” She said in a hurry.
“Baby, it’s… 6am.”
“Jon, please come online.” She couldn’t hold back the tears anymore and it was obvious is her voice as she pleaded him to go online.
“Mel, what’s wrong?” He asked worried when he heard the distress in her voice.
“Please just come online, I need to see you.” She almost begged him while tears started to roll over her cheeks again, she had just pulled herself together again and now she was crying again.
“Alright, alright, I’m coming.”

She could hear him get up and move around his room.

“My laptop is starting, I’ll call you back on there, okay?”
Melody nodded. Then realized he couldn’t see her. “Okay.” She managed to say.
“I’m gonna hang up here then.” He said carefully, not wanting to upset her even more.
“Okay.” Melody agreed again and took the phone away from her ear to hang up.

She reached to the end of her bed where her laptop was already waiting and pulled it closer to her. She sat crossed leg in front of it with a pillow in her lap, watching the screen to tell her he was online.

It online took a few minutes and the little screen popped up, a call was followed immediately after.

Melody clicked the green button to accept his call.

Jon was also sitting in his bed, his laptop on his lap. He could see her tearstained cheeks with more tears following.

“Now please tell me what’s wrong.” He pleaded this time. He could clearly see she was very upset and he didn’t want her to feel like that.

Melody wiped away the tears that had formed in her eyes again.

“Mel?” He asked again.

She sniffed and cleared her throat, trying to be able to speak.

Jon didn’t urge her again and waited for her to compose herself before speaking.

Melody took a deep breath, “I got my period.” When she said it, more tears followed.
“Oh Melody, baby.” He didn’t know what to say.

They talked about the uncertainly of it all yesterday evening, only eight hours ago but he had been a little excited about it, hoping there’d be a little one again.

Melody sniffed again, “I know I shouldn’t have but I had this little hope of a baby.” She explained.
“I had the same hope.” He said, followed by a sigh. “I wish I could hold you right now.” He tried to comfort her with the little possibilities he had.
“I’d love for you to be here right now.” She wiped away the tears that once ran down her cheeks, she just couldn’t stop. Being held in his strong arms would make her feel much better now.

“Are you working today?” He hoped she didn’t her stomach aches last night obviously weren’t from eating too much. Was she still in pain right now?
Melody shook her head. “No, I called in sick. It still hurts.” She admitted.

Jon was a little relieved, at least she could rest. He didn’t want her to work right now, she looked fragile. “Good, you need to rest. You should go back to bed.” It was still early, now that he was in Canada their time difference was gone and it was 6am for Melody too. He guessed she had just gotten up for work.

She really didn’t want to go back to sleep, she wanted to see him, be with him.

She watched Jon move on the bed, he took his laptop of his lap and went to lie down his side, then placed his laptop in front of him so she could still see him and he could still see her.

“Come on, lay with me.” He padded his bed next to her.

A little smile formed on Melody’s lips, he was so sweet. Melody moved her laptop and lied down with him.

“I’m sorry I woke you up so early.” Melody said when she was settled.
Jon chuckled. “You can wake me up whenever you need me.”
“Are you sure? Don’t you have to work tonight?” She didn’t want to be the reason that he didn’t get enough rest.
“No,” He shook his head, “tomorrow.”

They just watched each other for a while until Jon saw the tiredness and sadness on Melody’s face take over again.

“Go to sleep Melody.” His tone was almost a fatherly order.
Melody stretched and closed her eyes. “Good night.” She said.
“Good night.”

He watched her until he was sure she was asleep.

When she didn’t answer him anymore, he disconnected the call and shut down his laptop. It was almost 7am but now and he knew he didn’t want to go back to sleep.

Instead he picked up his phone and made a call, “Matt?”
