Chapter 108

When Jon got home, Stephanie was having breakfast in the kitchen. “Morning Princess.” He greeted her while pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“Dad.” She complained annoyed.
“What? You said not around friends, we’re alone here.” She might not be a five year old princess anymore but she’d always be his princess.
Stephanie sighed, that was indeed what she had said.
“Do you want to go to lunch with me and Melody and her friend?” He asked, sitting down across of her.
Stephanie thought it over before answering him. “Yeah, alright.” She decided.

They spent the rest of the morning casually watching tv before walking down to the hotel.

After picking up Melody and Lori they went to a small restaurant Jon and Melody had been to before.

Their lunch was short, Melody and Lori had to get back to the hotel on time. The restaurant was busy, as soon as their food arrived they dug in, they had waited for more than half an hour and now they had to hurry to finish.

Afterwards Jon and Stephanie walked back to the hotel with Melody and Lori. Stephanie said her goodbye’s and continued her way home, Lori did the same and went inside the hotel, leaving Jon and Melody alone in front of the hotel.

“We’re alone.” Jon pointed out.
“Sort of.” They were still in the street.
“Close enough.” He shrugged.

His hand reached to her hair, he wanted to put it back behind her ears but his hands went deeper and pulled her to him. He angled her head and kissed her deeply, letting his tongue travel into her mouth to rub together, they kissed passionately in the middle of the street until they broke away and were gasping for air.

“Wow.” Melody finally said. “Was that a preview for tonight.” She asked with a big smile.
“Oh definitely.” Jon smirked.
“Can’t wait, but I have to go back to work.” Melody said. She’d love to continue what they had started.
“Okay, see you at home.” He gave her another kiss, a short one and made his way home.

Melody smiled as she walked through the lobby, home, how nice it would be to have a home together with Jon.

Jon went home to pick up Stephanie again and drove to Dorothea’s house with her. It was closer to the kid’s schools so they would be home sooner unless Dorothea was picking them up. He still would have enough time for what he had to do.

Jon parked in the driveway and followed Stephanie out of the car. When he lifted the kids their bags out of the trunk, he noticed his back didn’t hurt as much although it was still hurting. Sam’s massage had helped but he should still ask Dean to fix it. Friday he had to be on stage, he didn’t need any back pain then.

He walked up to the door that Dorothea was already holding open for him, she stood in the middle of the doorway.

“Can I come in?” He asked, dropping the bags at his side.
“I don’t think so.” She said coolly.
“Didn’t think so.” He had expected it, it’s why he came over, he could have just dropped Stephanie off but he knew he shouldn’t leave things like they were. “I’m sorry about Saturday, I shouldn’t have yelled at you.”

Dorothea kept her cool look, staring at him.
“And Ian.” He added.
“You’re lucky Ian isn’t home or I’d make you apologize to him.” Dorothea said.

Jon sort of felt relieved he didn’t have to see Ian. Although he had prepared to apologize to him too, he would have to do it later.

“I really am sorry. I didn’t expect to see him and I got mad, which I know I shouldn’t have.” He tried to explain his actions.
“I didn’t expect to see your girlfriend either. I didn’t throw a temper tantrum that Romeo hasn’t even thrown since he was four.” Dorothea said a little annoyed.
“Now I’m four?” Last week Richie told him he was twelve.
“You sure act like a four year old.”
“I said I was sorry!”
“I know, and thank you for that.” Dorothea said.
“You accept my apology then?”He asked rather hopeful, not sure yet if she did.
“Yes. Just don’t ever do that again.”

Now he really did feel like a four year old.
“Where did Steph go?” He asked before calling out for her.

He waited outside for her as Dorothea didn’t move from the doorway to let him in.

Stephanie came down the stairs and gave him a big hug. “I’m gonna miss you dad.”
Jon hugged her back. “I’m gonna miss you too.” He hugged a little tighter. “I love you.” He added.
“I love you too.” She answered him.

They padded each other’s back and let go.

Then he turned to Dorothea. “Do you want a hug too?” He asked unsure.
“Yeah.” She said, opening her arms to hug him.
They shared a short hug.

“See you in a month.” He said to them both before turning around and getting back to his car.

He arrived at Melody’s house a little after half past three. He found the door unlocked and walked in. Kicking his shoes off, leaving them with the pile of other shoes. He liked it, it was just a pile of shoes, but it made it homey. He missed it at his house.

In the living room he found J and Tyler watching tv, as he sat down the door opened again and Ryan walked in. From his seat, he had a clear view of the front door.

Soon enough Jon sat with all of Melody’s children, watching tv. After apologizing to Dorothea he did feel better about what had happened, but he still felt sorry about it. He felt like he just needed a few minutes to himself to reflect.

The next time the door opened he was happily greeted by Faith, she was always happy to see him.
“What’s wrong?” She asked as she sat down next to him.
“Nothing’s wrong.” Jon said a little confused.
“You look a little sad.” Faith sad.
“Nah, I’m just tired.” Jon waved it off, she was only nine, she didn’t know of how stupid he had acted.

Finally Melody walked through the door too. He felt his mood lighten, instantly happier.

“You’re early.” Melody hadn’t expected him until after she got home from work She bounced down on the couch next to him with a big sigh.
“Busy day?” Jon asked.
Melody nodded. “Kind of happy I’m not here for the summer, that’ll be even busier”
“Lucky you, live the rock star life for a while.” He smiled at her. He couldn’t wait, the sooner the better, he needed a break from real life.
“I think I’d like that.” More time with him was always good.
“I almost can’t wait for this month to be over.” Jon said, thinking back at his day of goodbye’s, but in a month he’d do it all again, at least then he didn’t have to say goodbye to Melody.

I really like Jon and Melody they have a unique relationship that continues to grow all the time. Very smart move for Jon to apologize to Dorothea for acting like a 4yr old.
