Chapter 86

Finally they had changed into swimsuits and got into the pool. All the older kids had decided to come to see the dolphins up close but wanted to leave after that.

Romeo, Jake and Faith were still excited to see the dolphins so close they could touch them. The dolphin trainer started with introducing himself as Devon and gave them a lecture about how to act with the dolphins, that they were very gentle animals but could get scared with sudden movements. The trainer looked at the three youngest until they understood what he had said.

The trainer opened the gates and two dolphins swam into the pool. Immediately Romeo hid behind Jon. “You’re hiding? You’re the one that wanted to do this.”
“I didn’t think they’d be this big.” Romeo explained still standing behind his dad.
“Come on, Devon said they’re nice.” Jon urged. “You can just pet them.” He took a step forward, closer to the dolphins but Romeo held on to him.

Jake and Faith were petting the dolphin that was closest to them. Melody kept an eye on the two kids, surprised how still the dolphins stayed when they were being pet. She noticed Jon and Romeo were still at the other side of the pool.

Jon took careful steps closer to where Melody was standing. When they were close enough Melody tried if she could convince Romeo. “Just pet him, he’s very soft.” Melody said as she petted the dolphin’s back. “See?”

Finally Romeo got out from behind Jon and stretched his arm as far as he could, still holding on to Jon’s hand until he could touch the dolphin with his fingertips. “It is soft.” He said amazed, looking back at Jon.
Jon raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
“Yeah!” Romeo said now excited and pulled him closer.

Jon got closer to the dolphin and just as he was about to touch it, the dolphin swished his tail and dove under the water swimming away. Romeo jumped up at the movement and hid behind Jon again.

“It’s just swimming.” Devon said when he noticed Romeo. He took his hand and pulled him away from Jon, ignoring him when he said no. He swam over to the dolphin.

Everyone’s attention went to Romeo and Devon, wondering what they were going to do.

Carefully he placed Romeo’s hand the dolphin’s dorsal fin. “Now don’t let go until you really have to.” Devon said to him.

Romeo tightened his grip on the dolphin and Devon made a sign the dolphin recognized and started swimming.

Romeo held on and let the dolphin pull him along. When he needed to breathe he finally let go. He stood up in the water, wiping the water from his face and the hair out of his eyes. “That was awesome!” He laughed and had a big smile on his face. “Can I do it again?” He turned around to Devon.

Faith and Jake decided they had to check it out too. They wanted to try it too, it did seem fun and both swam away from Melody and Jon.

Melody closed the short distance between Jon and her. “Didn’t think he’d do that.”
“Only if someone had made him.” Jon said. He knew his son well enough, he just had to be encouraged a little bit and now he had fun. If Devon hadn’t made him, he would have regretted it later.
“Don’t you want to try?” Melody asked.
“Oh no.” Jon said, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his hands on her lower back. “I’d rather stay right here.” He lowered his head to cover her mouth with his.

Melody kissed him back. Jon held her tight as he deepened his kiss, gently pulling her up to him. She could feel his cock stir against her lower abdomen.

Finally Melody pulled her head back. “Swim shorts don’t hide as well as jeans.” She placed her hands on his hips.

She was right, that wouldn’t be a pretty sight for any of them. He loosened his grip on her and took a small step back.

All the kids took turns on swimming with the dolphins. Melody and Jon insisted on not trying it, the kids had great fun in calling them chickens and couldn’t stop laughing.

After they got dressed again Stephanie and the older boys decided to drive home again to spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach. Their parents reminded them to be back at the house at dinnertime so they wouldn’t have to eat leftovers.

The five of them were left behind and went to see the other animals at the park. After they saw the sea turtles they were on time to see the sea lion show. This time they sat a few rows back, making sure they wouldn’t get wet again.

They made sure they saw every animal at the park and went to every show they could see the animals perform.

Before they left they hoped to make a short trip to the gift shop but the kids thought otherwise. Finding all sorts of fun stuffed animals, t-shirts and little things they wanted. They all picked out their favourite animal and t-shirt and were finally ready to go back home.

They had spent the whole day at the park and Melody and Jon wished for a minute of quiet now even though they had a great time seeing the kids having so much fun.

Lying on the beach, listening to the waves sounded like a good idea now.
