Chapter 17

The next morning Melody woke up as she heard the bedroom door shut. She turned around and lay on her belly putting her arms under her pillow. Richie was right; Jon was understanding and hadn’t minded at all. If he did he was very well at hiding it. Melody stretched her arms under her pillow and sat up. She could see the sunshine creeping in between the blinds of the glass wall.

She decided to get up and remembered all her clothes were in the living room. She looked over to Jon’s side of the bed and saw a chair with clothes. Melody crawled to the other side of the bed and walked over to the chair. There was a pair of jeans and a blue t-shirt. She took the t-shirt and put it on. It was long enough it just covered up everything. She walked out of the bedroom, through the office, the hallway and to the kitchen where Jon was sitting at the table. He looked up and noticed Melody.
“Good morning.” He said to her putting his cup down.
“Morning.” She answered hoarsely; she cleared her throat and tried again, still sounding hoarse.
“That doesn’t sound too good.” Jon said.
“Must have been all the singing.” Melody said with a smile and Jon laughed.
“Yeah, happens to me all the time." He joked. "I can make you some earl grey tea if you want.” He offered.
“I’ve never had it.” Melody said, not sure, she wasn’t a fan of tea.
“Here,” Jon said and held his mug out for her, “take a sip and try.”
Melody did as he said and took a sip. It didn’t taste too bad and the heat felt nice. She nodded and gave his mug back. Jon got up and turned on the electric kettle. He got her a mug and put honey instead of sugar in her tea. He stirred it and handed it to her.
“What do you want for breakfast? I make some great scrambled eggs or cereal.” He told her with a smile.

Melody couldn’t wait to try out his cooking skills and opted for the scrambled eggs. Jon took a pan, got some eggs from the fridge and started cooking. Melody watched him as she drank her tea. The warmth and honey helped her sore throat. He was only wearing sweats and Melody enjoyed the view thoroughly.

He scooped the eggs on two plates, got two forks and walked back to the table, putting Melody’s plate in front of her.
Melody took a bite. “This is good.” She said surprised, he was right he could make scrambled eggs, next time she would have to test out if he really did burn the popcorn.
“Thanks, glad you like it.” Jon said with a smile and started his own breakfast. They talked about next weeks concert; Melody told him she’d be driving as it was only an hour and a half drive. Jon didn’t agree and wanted a driver to pick her up and drive her to Philadelphia instead. Melody didn’t think it was necessary but gave in anyway. It would be easier.

Melody finished her breakfast, she put her fork on her plate and drank some more of her tea. It wasn’t very warm anymore but it still felt good. It had helped and she sounded less hoarse when she talked.
“What are you doing today?” Melody asked as she put her mug back down.
“The band's leaving for Washington tonight and around 1 I’m gonna see the kids.” Jon explained to her.
Melody looked over at the microwave clock. “It’s 9.30; we can still do something then?” She asked.
“That clock’s wrong.” Jon laughed. “It’s 9.15.”
“That gives another full 15 minutes.” Melody said excited but sarcastic.
“Yeah, imagine what we can do with that.” He said sarcastically. “What do you want to do this morning then?”
“I don’t know, what do you want to do?” She asked him.
“Do you want to stay in or go out?” Jon asked her, he didn't have any ideas on what to do either.
Melody looked outside; it didn’t look very nice outside, grimy February. “Let’s stay in.” She decided.
“A movie then?” Jon asked.

Melody got an idea, Facebook, show him what other people thought of the concerts. Jon agreed and thought it would be funny. He got up and took his laptop which was still by the elevator door and sat down on the couch, urging Melody to come join him. He put his feet up on the coffee table and the laptop on his lap. Melody snuggled up to him as his laptop started and he started the internet and went to the page. Melody logged herself in and went to a friend’s page; she always had the most current pictures of concerts.

Melody clicked on a few pictures. Some perfectly timed pictures that turned out as funny faces. Even Jon had to laugh at those. A chat popped up and asked where she had been the last few days. Melody quickly typed an answer saying she had worked late all week, she wasn't lying.

She clicked on to some videos and Jon loved the comments. Some said how much they had loved the concert and others said how good he looked.
“Come on, let me comment.” He said when Melody wouldn’t let him.
“No, get your own account.” She said back.
“Ok, I will.” He said and took the mouse away from her. He looked around on the screen but then asked anyway. “How do I log you out?”
Melody grabbed the mouse back and logged herself out. “I’ll help you.” She said as she started to create a new account. “Do you want to use your real name?”
“Yeah, why not?” He asked confused.
“You’ll get a lot of people wanting to be your friend, but I think we can change that so they can’t.” Melody explained and she typed in his name and created a new account. She went to settings and she was right she could make it so not just anyone could send him a friend request. She added herself as a friend and then looked for a profile picture. Jon agreed to just take one from the internet and they found a picture from last night and decided to use that.

They filled in all the questions until they got to relationship. He changed it into ‘in a relationship’ and typed in Melody’s name.
“I just made you my girlfriend.” He said proudly.
Melody chuckled and reached up to kiss his jaw. She was glad he already thought of it like that. She wasn’t worried her friends would see as there were enough fake pages of him on there anyway.

He joined some groups and this time Melody would let him comment on his pictures. He was great and even commented how horrible he looked in the bad pictures. He wanted to add some of his friends but Melody stopped him, telling him how many fake profiles there were. He wouldn’t believe it until Melody typed in Jon Bon Jovi under search and he saw how many people acted to be him. He absolutely didn’t agree with it and it made him even angrier when Melody told him some people had misused his name and had cheated a lot of people on there. Now everyone in the Jovi family finally understood Jon wasn’t really on Facebook. He felt relieved but still couldn’t believe people would use a celebrity's name and start flirting with people in the hopes of getting something more. Melody saw he was getting frustrated about it and explained to him that his fans knew he wouldn’t do anything like that and Melody sent him back to pictures.

As usual on Facebook, Melody had lost track of time and before she knew it, it was noon. She loved how naturally Jon seemed on Facebook but had enough of it now too. She reached up again to places some kisses along his jaw line. Jon turned his head and caught her lips in a kiss. He put the laptop on the coffee table and turned his attention back to Melody. He kissed her deeply and Melody sunk back into the couch. He reached under her shirt to cup her breast and kissed her neck. He pulled the shirt over her head and looked at her.
“You’re beautiful.” He said, like it was the most logic thing in the world. Melody couldn’t help but smile. “So are you, sweetheart.” She said, Jon smiled back at her, he kissed her again and they heard his stomach growl. He ignored it and kept kissing her for a while. He gave her a last kiss and got up.
“I’m hungry.” He stated; Melody laughed and followed him to the kitchen. She noticed the microwave clock again.
“Jon, it’s 1.03, you had to leave.” Melody said worried.
“Mel, it’s 10 to and I still have some time.” He said as he started to toast some bread.
“You can make toast too?” Melody said surprised as she went back to the living room looking for her clothes. She put her pants back on and looked around for her bra.
“Jon, where’s my bra?” She asked when she couldn’t find it anywhere. He came over to look with her and found it behind a pillow.
“So that was poking me in the back.” He said as he gave it back to Melody. She dressed further and had lunch with Jon.

After lunch he got dressed too and walked her to where she had parked her car. She dropped her bags in the trunk and kissed him goodbye.
“See you Wednesday then.” She said after they kissed.
“Someone will pick you up at home around 2, okay?” He asked and Melody nodded in agreement. They kissed again and Jon let Melody get into the car. She drove out of the parking and Jon waved her goodbye before leaving to go to Dorothea’s house and see the kids.
