Chapter 32

The morning after the concert Melody slept in as long as a mother of 4 could sleep in, which was about till 9am
“Do we have Lucky Charms?” Someone asked behind her door before walking in.
“No.”
“Coco puffs?” Ryan asked again.
“You know that cupboard where we keep the cereal?” Melody asked slightly annoyed, she wanted more than 7 hours of sleep for once.
“Yeah?” He asked confused.
“You know it opens and you can see what’s in it.”
“Thanks mom, very funny.” He said annoyed when he left again.

Melody wondered how they could always use sarcasm and when she did it was something mean. It was the same thing they did, how could it be wrong then?

She rolled out of bed knowing she wouldn’t get back to sleep and if she would someone else would wake her up again. She got up and went to the kitchen to see if Ryan had found what he needed. He was in the living room with the TV down low; Heaven was still sleeping on the couch.

Melody decided to start breakfast before everyone got up and got out a box of eggs and started making two pans of scrambled eggs. She got a bag of bread and started toasting it. When the eggs were done she got everyone out of bed and to the breakfast table.

They had a calm Sunday, after breakfast Melody turned on a movie and by the end of it everyone had left and she was watching it alone. Even Faith had left but she liked Heaven so she joined everyone downstairs in the basement. Melody had nothing else to do and the kids wouldn’t want to do anything with her anyway so she got her laptop and went on Facebook.

She spend the remainder of the afternoon on there, playing games and talking to people until her phone got a text. She had expected it was from Jon but it wasn’t, it was Rob asking if he could pick everyone up an hour earlier. Melody put her laptop on the coffee table to get up and ask everyone if it was ok for them.

A few minutes later she answered Rob it was fine and texted Jon to let him know everyone would be gone an hour earlier.

Soon enough it was 5 and as usual Rob was there on the dot. The kids got their stuff and Rob offered to drop Heaven off on the way home. She said goodbye to everyone and quickly told Rob about them meeting her new boyfriend the week they got back. Rob hadn’t known she had a boyfriend at all but was happy she did.

Jon got to her house 15 minutes after everyone had left and Melody was happy he could come earlier.
“I missed you. I had such a boring afternoon without you.” She said when she opened the door for him.
“Really?”
“You should be glad you have 2 little ones.” She said.
“I am, they keep me busy. Faith doesn’t?” He asked.
“No, she spend the whole afternoon downstairs with her brothers and Heaven.”
“Well, you got me now.” He smiled and gave her a kiss

Jon had made a reservation for 7pm so they still had about an hour before they would have to leave, so Melody invited him into the living room. They walked by the stereo on their way in and Jon stopped to look at all the cd’s.
“You have a lot of music.” He said as he looked at all the backs for titles. “You got them classified by band?”
“Yeah, of course, makes it easier, by band, then release date.” Melody explained.
“Yeah that does make sense.” He noticed the Bon Jovi cd’s and picked one out. “I don’t remember releasing this one.”
Melody took a look at what he was holding. “That’s a bootleg.”
“Stealing my music huh?” He joked.
“If you don’t release it baby then that’s not my fault.”
“Fair enough.” He said as he put the cd back and took another one out as he raised his eyebrow and turned his head looking at her questioningly “Hannah Montana?”
“Those Faith’s cd’s.” Melody said.

Jon let it go and looked at some other cd’s, asking about bands he hadn’t known and complimenting her on her collection. He was even surprised when he noticed some cd’s he knew were only released abroad but she had found them.

Melody finally got him away from the cd’s and took him further to the living room. She made him sit down on the couch.
“Coffee?”
“No, just sugar.” He answered with a smile.
She sat down on his lap and gave him a kiss.
“That was hardly artificial sweetener.” He said after their kiss.
“Was it?” Melody asked teasingly.
“Yes it was. I’ll show you sugar.” He said as he flipped her over on the couch and kissed her. He pushed her mouth open with his tongue so he could taste her. He hadn’t been able to kiss her like that last night, so he’d make up for it now.

Melody kissed him back, putting her arms around him and pulling him closer to her.
“So that’s sugar?” She asked when he pulled away and she looked into his eyes.
“Yeah, unless there’s something sweeter than sugar.” He joked.
“I should start getting ready for our date.”
“You weren’t ready?” He wondered looking at her outfit.
“Jon, I’m wearing old jeans and an old t-shirt, it even has a hole in it.” She said even showing him were the hole was.
“You make it work.” He said as he sat back down.
“No I don’t.” She said as she got up and went to her room. “You can still have coffee if you want.”

She opened her closet and looked around for some clothes. Jon hadn’t said if it was a fancy restaurant or not but she decided to dress nicely anyway. She decided to put on the lingerie she bought for his birthday and picked out a long red dress, before noticing a shorter blue one as she took the red one out of the closet. Melody tried sticking to her first choice putting on the red dress as soon as she had changed her lingerie. She looked at herself in the mirror, thinking the blue dress might be nicer.
“JOOONN!!” She called for him.
He jumped up from the couch, worried something had happened. “What?” He asked as he walked into the room.
“Which dress?” She asked, holding both up next to her.
Jon looked at the red dress and the blue dress but finally rested his eyes on Melody.
“I’m not going like this.” She said.
“The red one, the blue one is strapless; you’d see your bra straps.” He explained.
Melody looked over at the dress and noticed he was right. She hadn’t noticed it.

She put the blue one away and put on the red dress.
“Ready to go.” She said as she walked out of the bathroom where she had refreshed herself quickly.
“Ok, let’s go.” Jon said, talking her hand and walking her to the car. He opened the car for her before he got behind the wheel himself and drove to the restaurant.

Pirate--I love that pic of Jon you have up there.

I like how comfortable they are with each other. That bit about the 'sugar' was so cute. I would like to try that brand of sugar. Jon over here and pucker up. Heehee :)
